Project TUF550

Truly some Sexy hardware but I would have gone with a 800D or possibly a High end Lian Li case and I just love the look of those in a office environment. Cant wait to see this bad boy together and running some benchmarks!

Xeon E5-2670 and above are apparently better than the 3960X but their prices are around 1.5 to 2 times more expensive, and price for the motherboard would have almost doubled too...
Still waiting for the case and the gfx card!

Ah well, what with the choice to go with a 3960X instead of its near identical 3930K I didn't think the money was a problem!

I had a fix budget, the 3960X fitted in, the 2670 and mobo didn't unless i had to reduce other specs which i didn't want to!
So the 3960X was the fastest i could get...

Finally got the video card and the case...

Here are the pics of th Zotac GTX680 Amp Edition

And here is the all setup... just temporary keyboard and mouse.
OC: 4GHz, temp idle: 33C and load: 48/50C, H100 on max... very similar to what I get on my 3770K with H100 on normal mode.

well I am having a serious problem with the GTX680... keeps crashing after a few minutes in Unigine Heaven benchmark, and in Ghost Recion Future soldier. Been looking on the net and found out that a lot of users have same problem with the nvidia kernel crashing randomly!
Tried to update the nvidia driver to the latest Beta, but still no go... it sucks!

The new ghost recon game basically doesn't work, it's nothing to do with your gpu which is the good news :P Ubisoft have admitted there are massive faults with the game, we are just gonna have to wait for a patch :(

Yes I guess GR maybe not the referrence, but it does also crash in Blacklight and Unigine... some reports that the problem occures because of the card failed to underclock or it may be a faulty GPU!
