Hello everybody

My new project is based on my previous build NATi Proto This project have inner part that slides from the back:

New project will be m-atx based and have motorized inner part that slide out from the back and outer part is 3D printed with 3mm glass windows.
Motor is basic metal gear servo that is made to turn 360 and controlled by arduino uno.

There will be custom loop for the cpu.

System specs are:
Cpu: I7-7740X
MB: Msi X299m-A Pro
GPU: Dont have it yet

Memory: XPG Spectrix D41 DDR4 32GB
SSD: 2 X XPG Gammix S11 480GB
PSU: Silverstone SX650-G SFX
Fans and controlbox is Silverstone

Big thanks to Silverstone and Msi for sponsoring this build.

Here is the inner part of the case with test components so you can see what the layout is:

And here is first design of the 3D printed outer case:

Top and front fangrills will be this design:

Thanks :)

First i did mod to the SX650-G PSU:

I cut the fangrill off and designed new one. I use MS 3D Builder for my designs. 3D print with Minifactory innovator for big parts and Ultimaker 2 Extented+ for little parts. Material is PLA

Next thing on my list is modify the servo to rotate 360 degrees. So lets get into it:

First step is remove top and bottom cover:

And take the gears out so i can take the pin off restrict the motor to spin 360:

One last thing to do is cut the potentiometer off and replace it with two resistors. Now servo thinks that it is on center position all the time and can rotate 360 degrees:

Thanks :) Trying to do my best.

Now servo is modded i make code for the arduino and feed it with two different pwm signal so it turs both ways.

I 3D printed little rail so i can test it and it works:

Then i designed bigger rails that fit on the aluminium inner case:

Had to cut little peace off the inner case so motor would fit:

Next step is mounting the aluminium m-atx stand to the frame and test the motor with components in the case.

Thanks :)

Before i started to drill holes for the mb base i tested most of the components with the case.

My wife is so pleased of my modding station :)

Then its time to mount the base to the case and do another test with fans:

Top fan is blocking 8-pin eps so i have to do mod on those fan frames:

Hello,

Just a little post for couple things i did:

I designed reservoir holder with diamonds :)

And case for arduino uno:

And also tested the arduino with direct power from psu 12v

Coming along nicely! What 3D printer do you use? What software are you using to design your prints?

Thanks :)

i use ultimaker 2 extented + for smaller prints and miniFactory Innovator for bigger prints.

And i make my models with MS 3D Builder :) i know its not as good as Autodesk products but i like doing my models with it.

I'd love to get my hands on those printers and I'll have to check 3D Builder out. I haven't designed any of my own prints yet, but have printed quite a few prints other people have designed. Being able to do my own though would be helpful.

He wrote it in previous post:

Ah, you're right, I skimmed too fast and missed it.
