Project Radiation

Hey guys, Iv been up all night thinking of something to do to keep me busy in my spare time and iv thought of building a new computer.

Iv decided to call it Project Radiation as i will be basing the entire thing in a nuclear theme.

This will probably mean a black and green theme. I want to keep everything neat and all inside the case with a minimal yet effective look. You guys know how i like things tidy, especially my cables.

To fund this bad boy iv decided to sell my computer, (if i get the right money for it that is) which is in the sales section of the forums and also posted elsewhere. If your interested then give me a shout.

This is the guts of the project which i have come up with so far.

Here is the watercooling components im going to use. I have most of these in this case and DAMN they are nice. Work a charm.

If you guys have got any suggestions then let me know. Feedback is always a bonus. And yes , i know i need to put fans on there, purely havent done this because i have no idea which ones to use.

Also, any sponsorship would be very welcome, literally for anything!!! just a bit of thermal paste wouldnt go a miss. lmfao. :D

Ill update if/when my computer sells,

Cheers once again for looking guys. Think its about time i hit the sack.

Nice going, The Ek supreme is perhaps slightly a better block for a few less £££ enough for you to get thermal paste... Wouldnt we all love sponosorship :D

What do you want from your pc? The new dual cores offer more FPS IRL than quads but for benchmarking quads win.

Not sure what you are paying for your GTX but the 'new' GTX is due end of March so maybe pick up a 2nd hand one or a cheap 512 GTS (~£185). Btw, the new GTX is a G92 so nothing really special. (info over at VR Zone).

PSU - PCP&C pwns, then tagan although tbf any decent branded psu will do you proud.

RAM - get the reaperX over those, price is pretty much the same but the X are much better quality.

Rad - xspc would be fine but if I were you I'd be grabbing a pa120.2

Personally I'd drop the TT case for something a little more classy ;)

LMFAO!! Cheers for the feedback guys...I shall be looking into everything said.

Just incase i didnt make myself clear (im getting out of this one for my lack of knowledge), everything shown there was just an estimate of things that i want, besides the watercooling parts which i like alot and will use.

The comps doing well on my other site for selling so might be coming up with the money soon.

Im going for the wolfdale simply because its newish and id love to try it out. I dont think i will be benching this much, (of course im going to rag the hell out of it once in a while) but will mainly be using it as a mean machine for gaming.

( your more than welcome to complain at me, quad core or wolfdale?)

and also, 8800 i might wait for the 9800 to show its face and also the modular psu things, i just think they look neat but i see what you mean about the mess, they can be untidy in situations, they just need a little taming

And the case. personally. I have no idea. Im a big fan of thermaltake cases. People complain about them but i like to be different. Of course i would love a lian li but to mod and paint a little crazy??? its too beautiful to destroy to begin with. Start with nothing. leave with everything. :D

Im going to try to sleep once again. Only had an hour.

What you guys think to what iv said? would love some feedback again for some light reading when i eventually wake up. :worship:

Well, i could probably get you a X-ray tube. I mean you'd probably need a bigger PSU though. Takes around 150,000 Volts.

Also, all you could get from it is cancer.

the case is nice, i had one, but it is small, and rather hard to work with

but as i said, it is actually a nice case :)

the rest of the parts look good too :)

An xray tube?? sweet...wouldnt mind tbh. Sod the cancer side of it. At least you could say you have one i suppose.

The choice of case is just a choice of case. Anyone who knows me knows that i change my mind a thousand times before making a final decision.

You guys have guided me on what to do and what to look out for before, and from what you guys have said here then i shall be taking everything into account.

Only 7 days left on ebay and some interest on here, we shall see if i get the money i want. Got some money coming in today from my monitor which is going to a mate for cheap (helping him out, hes stuck on a crt), poor chap. £100 for a 22" widescreen, not bad me thinks.

Right guys...iv decided im not going to sell my computer and im just going to mod this one and see how it goes. Using my existing case. Sort of, recycling. Why not hey.

So im going to start a new thread later tonight. Ask llwyd or ham to remove this one (or if anyone wants to do it about 6pm for me please???) then that would be ace.

Ill start a project log, use my old and new hardware and see how it goes from then on.

Cheers guys. Look forward to starting this project tonight ;)
