Next thing i'll do is cut out the holes for the PSU connector/ Ethernet and USB..

I have another update for you all,

I have a little confession to make though, when i was doing this stage i forgot to take any pictures when i was doing it so here is what i have done
smile.gif

As you can see, i have put the USB's in the memory card slots, gluing them in securely
wink.gif
(Probably too securely :L)

IMG_1676.jpg

I have also cut the side out of the bottom plastic plate so that the I/O can be accessed from the outside, pictured here:

IMG_1677.jpg

Here's the USB's inside the Memory Card slot, the fitted in surprisingly well!

IMG_1680.jpg

View from the I/O side, doesnt look too bad.

IMG_1681.jpg

Again from the I/O side, but this time with the case on, i think its quite discreet, which is how i wanted it..

So the things left to do are:

Get the power button connected to the power button on the board,

Buy a battery, (Only maybe though, as it would mean cutting the back of the PS1 open)

Put a DVD drive in it

And thats about it, i think :L

I think the next update will be next week sometime..

Oh, once i have finished this, would anyone like to have it as a swap for anything cool?

I haven't really got a use for it..

I'm really tempted to do something similar with my PS2
smile.gif
Ofcourse it is the original big clunky box! Not that slim version.

Thats a good effort so far and I think it wil be great when finished. What PSU are you using? Did you intentionally put the USB slots in alterantively? i.e one facing up and the other facing down?

Pity there are no Sataports on the M/B.

Aha, ive only just noticed that they are alternative ends!

The other side are both the same, but no, i intended on putting them all the same way round..

The psu is the one that came with the netbook, its a very small brick.

Cheers mate, i was wondering why it wasnt working!

The monitor is off an old HP computer, i dont use it very often..

It is a nice monitor though, i think it can live on my bedside table!

The keyboard and mouse that ive got coming are very similar to the apple keyboard and mouse, i wanted to keep a white theme as the PS1 is white/grey.. they are also very small so they can be put away easily.

Once they come, ill post a video of it near completion!

Linux Mint is running on this as well now, i prefer it to ubuntu..

I think that's about it on the update front, ill post back when the bits get here! (They are coming from hong kong, so expect about a week now?)

Wow, its really coming together, i never used linux before, how do you find it?

You should name it the PSPC (Playstation PC)

This project is becoming interesting with every update hmmmm..... (looks at the ps3 shell in cupboard)

I really like linux, i hadn't used it before this project and coming from a windows fanboy, i love it!

Personally, i think linux should be talked about more in schooling, it would have helped me..

Love the name
wink.gif

I may well have a go at something else once this is finished, (Looks over at fully working N64)

Hope the keyboard and mouse comes soon!

I like, very good, i wish i had the skills to do this sort of thing. Got an old PS1 sat in my wardrobe somewhere. ITs funny because your new 'PS1' probably out performs the ps3 haha

Got a little update for you all,

The first thing is that the keyboard has come!

It works beautifully with the playstation, glad i got it!

I thought id show you a picture of where i plan to use it the most, on my bedside table!

IMG_1796.jpg

You will probably see that it is running ubuntu, thats because i somehow managed to break the file with linux mint on, ill try it again some other time!

Finally, I have a friend who likes to mess around editing images and he sent me his latest creation today,

Pretty cool, Eh?

Anyway, ill post back when the mouse comes, hopefully that will be a bigger update.
