Loving it so far!! Great work!

Thank you guys!! I appreciate all your nice comments!

awesome woodwork :)I can see it isn't your first time (working with wood that is  )
And for what kind of a colour are you going, a dark mahogany colour or a light oak coulor, ...
for a very shiny and reflective finish or a rough finish ?

And keep up the good work and keep them updates coming:).

It won't be a dark mahogany colour, just reddish brown. I'll post a pic from my desk (it'll have the same finish) if you want.

About updates, I'm still waiting an order to go on. Today I've had to phone to custom department and now everything is ok. So... new update in a few days!

Sorry for the late reply. Regards!

just a thought im assuming the top will be clear perspex, are you having any lighting in there, for like an ambient effect?

Top will be crystal and yes, I'll illuminate the interior with 2 x 120cm Phobya LED-Flexlight High Density RGB with the IR remote controller.

Regards!

My bet is the whole thing is glue'd together so far without the use of a single screw?
Looks really nice so far thats for sure!
Plenty of fans in there as well but make sure to use some silent ones since 16 fans can make alot of noise ;)

If you know how to make proper jointing then screws are overrated! Jointing and glue are really it if you got some talent, which OP certainly has!:)

I had a semester where we took a looked at industrial grade gluing and how to properly dimension
such joints (not necessarily in woodworking, just mechanical engineering in general). As long as
you take certain pitfalls into account (don't stress the joint in a peeling fashion, the glue will
degrade over time to some degree, temperature and chemical resistance can be a problem, etc.
I'm sure there were others, but those are the ones I recall off the top of my head), you can do some
absolutely phenomenal stuff with them.

In the coming decades there will be many screws, welds and other joints that will be replaced with
glues, especially with composite materials supplanting metals in many areas (you can glue those a tad
better than metals since you can specifically engineer them to be well-suited for gluing, although there
are very strong metal glues as well).

Anyway, </ramble> ;)

Wow! Thanks for your comments guys! Talking about "Mesa", some parts are glued, others are embedded and I will put a few screws to reinforce the structure, but can't see them :D

Well, my package has just arrived (finally), so I have the grill to cut all the recesses in the wood with precision. In the begining, I was thinking in putting two triple radiators with their grills:

Here you see where the switches are going to be:

But in the end I decided to put two quadruple rads because I have enough space. Grills will be on the same level that wood, so I have to make several recesses.

And this is the cut I have to do for the cable channel:

I hope to get these things on Wednesday and take a few pics so you can see the progress.

Flabbergasted by how great this one is turning out. Love seeing furniture mods, especially ones that turn out as well as this one has so far! :beerchug:

Oh dear lord this is going to be gorgeous! :dribble:

Amazing work!

Thank you very much dudes!

I'm really glad to announce my first sponsor for Project Mesa: Aquatuning España (Aquatuning Spain). I appreciate all the effort from Aquatuning to give me some products of their stock, such as rad grills, LED's strips and SATA cables.

Regards.

WOW, how did I miss this thread. Loosing those subscription has made me go and read some more logs. This my friend is an awesome project. Your wood has given me wood - what I mean is I love it....

i know this isn't strictly related but how did you bend the wood?

love the whole computer inside the desk, will be nice to see when its finished

That's awesome! Well deserved, and congratulations! :)

Thanks dude!

It's related bro :) Well, you have to cut a few pieces giving the shape and then put a thin layer of wood on it. This layer is wet and it's easy to bend. I don't know if I've explained it very well. Anyways, I'll try to take a better picture of that part.

I was wondering if that joke would come along at some point in this thread.

So... what is better than having a sponsor?? Two of them!! EKWB has joined my project giving me a quadruple rad and the CPU waterblock, so THANK YOU VERY MUCH!
