Time to finish the build
So update time and lets see some of those pics of it together shall we?? OK then just cause many have asked enough.
So as i have said before i had to get anothe rcase as my first one was defect. Coolermaster must of had a dude one here as there was no damage on the box or polystyrene. also towards the front it was flush at the bottom but about 3-4mm away at the front. you'lll see what i mean below. when i showed a friend of mine it and he said i was being "fussy" about it, not really when you have just paid £140 for a case.
Next was CPU and RAM. i had ordered the 3770k with a PAZ77 V-PRO. and some tasty Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133MHz RAM. i ummed and arghed over with MoBo to get and decided on this one, other choices were GD65 or the MPower.
Next up was changing the direction of the HDD fans, i wanted them at the front to push air into the case, and when the lights are on it looks smart too.
2 seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD for storage, also later i put the SSD under the bottom HDD and removed the SSD cage from the bottom of the case.
Up next, the AX760i.
I must say i was very jealous of the bag the PSU came in, let alone the little sack of cables that were next to it. the PSU bag looked better than the sleeping bag i own. Then there was the bag of cables, it was a neat little pouch full of goodies. One thing i did find out is that the braided cables are not available for the AX760i yet, but when they do come available i will be upgrading to them as i dont think i have the patience to braid my own hoses. maybe IF i was really bored and had nothing to do.
Following this i put in the Mobo and the side panel so i could get a sneak preview of it all before all the cables went in. was a pleasent sight to see i must say
GPU Comparison time, i previewed a picture before just to show the vast difference. Before i had the HD5550 from AMD, i pity little GPU when placed next to the Nvidia EVGA GTZ680 superclock Signature 2. and to think i have 2 of these puppies to go inside the Stryker case. its going to be epic
Next we have a suprise picture that i didnt know was being taken. this was me trying to route the cables for the HDD and SSD neatly and sneakily. i done the best i could for a build virgin, but im sure i will look back and find things alot easier when i get some braided wires.
Up next the H100i. I was lucky as to when this was realised, cause i wouldnt of been happy had I purchased the H100 and then this was released. but i was fortunate. fitting was simplevand easy. At first i was a little unsure as i fitted the backplate, and it was very very loose. But once i had put the whole unit of it wasnt going anywhere.
Temps i had at stock and folding were 48degrees on the highest core. so im happy with this and looking forward to the potential for overclocking. My Predicament was trying to make it look neat, without covering up the Corsair logo on the pump, or going oveer the RAM as that definatly had to be on show. i tried many options and settled with this
After this i had to power up to make sure everything was working, i wont lie, i was rather apprehensive about this due to being first build and hoping that i didnt blow something up. So i plugged in the mains power, flicked on the PSU. pressed the power button. I heard it power up and power down straight away. I was disheartened. i had a look about, checked all wires but just couldnt for the life of me see what was wrong. So being a brave soul i decided to try the power again.Bam it worked not sure what happened the first time. and this is waht i was rewarded with
So next was to actually put in the GPU's and wire it up. I want a tidy system, dont get me wrong, but i have tried the best i could right now, but the cables that come with the AX760i are very very stiff. so i am looking forward to a set of braided for this unit. but the GPU cables were the hardest thing i found to manipulate.but for now this will have to do.
now time to add the side panel and turn this thing on
Finally finished and now time to install Windows. and with it installed i started up the F@H to get a few temps and see how good the GPU's act, but when i get home tonight i will sort thw SSD out so it doesnt do anything i dont want it to do so i dont waste space. also try for some nice overclocks, for now i think it will just be CPU and possibly the RAM. i'll try the GPU's at a later date as they are silly fast for me ATM and will handle anything i throw at them. Especially since im only running a 22" screen via VGA untill i get my 3x23" iiyama2473hd.
Hope you have enjoyed this little update. with regards to the wifes computer, im still waiting on the case to turn up, also i have to send back the MoBo i have as i was ill advised and wished i had stuck to my guns on that as i was right the first time. but that will only be a week or 2. maybe a nice xmas present for her

or birthday as hers is on the 17th LOL
