Project BadA$$...**56k**

ok thanks i will get right on buying a psu... wanna sell me one?? maybe make the wires long and then i can just wiretie the stuff i dont need???

OK time to get building...

The metal showed up today and it is different than what I used on CrossFlow. The holes are smaller, it looks more like the face on a CM Centurion 5 comp. Actually I like it:)

Here is how I got it, the mesh and the alum plate for the mobo tray.

I just clamped the metal to my desk and bent it like this

here it is with the alum plate and mobo

Levi wanted me to leave the PS whole so He could swap out the mobo and PS if he wanted. He got a Xclio 700 watt to start with and a ECS KN3 SLI2 mobo.

He also wants to go 8800GTX so I made the case an extra inch wide so the card(s) will fit inside.

So Far its 3 7/8" high and 11" wide and 12 1/2" deep.

There is room for 6 HDDs down there, lol. I am gonna be running a AC8 (basically silent) as a exhaust for the Hdd (the CM CrossFlow fan vibrated too much) Also I an trying something different, I am leaving the PS fan facing up, I am gonna cut a hole in the mobo tray and use the PS fan to draw air from under the mobo that way it will keep the back of the mobo cool as well. That piece of metal that sticks out on the right side will be cut so there is a 1/2" lip on both sides of the mobo for the tray to rest on.

Mine will be quite bit smaller but exactly the same design.

lookin awesome, keep up the good work and keep us posted as usual more pics = better :yumyum: :yumyum: :yumyum: :yumyum: :yumyum: :yumyum:

Especially with the blue ends, I was thinking of putting the black rubber edge on the metal and than fitting the Blue ends flush with the metal.

Also I am thinking there is plenty of room for 2 Hdds even with the Full size DVD.

I cant wait!

I cant complain about that. I know its going to be bigger then your used too, but it'll be plenty small enough for me.

Now, I have to be at work in 5 hours so......

Crap, I just realized I probably should have told you I plan on puting the case on a shelf in an entertainment stand. I'm a little concerned about the dimensions. If I have the cables sticking out of the back, then the DVD drive will be on the right side correct? The width of the shelf is 18". I'm hoping that i'll still be able to open the drive without it hitting the side wall. Its not that big of deal though as I have room on the top to put the case if need be.

well my thought is the wires exit the right side of the case and the DVD opens in the front. The DVD could be turned to open from the left side as well. Il post better picts with the options later.

That will work just fine. I got a little confused trying the envision it.

Ok I had some time to cut..

Here is the right side of the comp, Its usually the side that faces the wall. On this one it is where the cables will exit

RightSide.jpg

Here is looking at the front, head on with the DVD exiting the front and 2 Hdds under it.

Here is the left side. I can cut the mesh and make the DVD exit out this side if its easier for you. Also on this side under the DVD will be a couple of USB ports

LeftSideDvd.jpg

(the blue tape is where I can cut the metal to slide the dvd in.)

Here is a top view (without the mobo and tray) showing the cooling. I have REALLY good luck with AC fans and I like that they draw air from all around as well.

That will work fine with the cables exiting on the right and the DVD in front. Thats where the 2 USB headers will be too, right?

I can put the USBs anywhere you want. (front or left side)

The DVD will look better opening in the front because the front will Be Blue Plastic, if the DVD was sideways you will see its whole side through the plastic.

This is gonna be sooo nice:)

Hehe, its already looking pretty good!

I just put in the order for everything except the GTX. I'm trying to hold out as long as possible in the hopes of a price drop. Of course thats not going to happen. :cussing:
