Program for Backing Up?

so i've recently come across a couple extra hard drives an di thought i would use them to back up some stuff

i was thinking of using a 149gb drive to backup my itunes library automatically, i.e. every time i add a new song and consolidate library, everything in the iTunes folder syncs with a folder on the hard drive

1. is this possible?

2. what program (if any) should i use (preferably freeware)
