Product Key sticker

It used to be that computers came with the Windows Product Key stuck to the case, and this is what I did with my last build. I'm in the process of a new build, and questioning whether I should continue that practice with my Windows 7 product key.

So, where does everyone store their product key sticker??

Sorry for the elementary question..

I have mine tatoo'd on my back, tbf Im running out of room now and its a right pain in the back side trying to read them without someone to help :(

Never mind.. I get the picture.

Can anyone point me to a board where ther less experienced can get their questions answered... No matter how inane?

Why not just as a notepad on a USB stick?
I have mine copied to a USB stick that I have my copy of windows on anyway - along with most of my drivers.

I've never felt the need to put it on the case tbh. It still is the practise that new computers that you'd buy from Dell for example do that - but never heard of anyone making a custom rig and sticking their product key to it...

Agreeing with Josh though - everything like that for me just goes in my rammel drawer - but now I've moved to uni and not brought everything with me I think I'm gunna need to start hoarding my collection again :)

Keep mine in my case on the shelf with the rest of my games etc.

I dont stick it to the case for my own builds as I often change cases

If im building for someone I usually stick to the top right on the same side as the motherboard (less likely to be removed/lost)

I'm gettin' older, and my sense of humor may not be what is once was, and from what I'm told, it may never have been that much.
In any case, I didn't sign on here to argue, build post counts, impress people with my prodigious knowledge (because it's non-existant with computers), display my OC talents (read about prodigious knowledge), or anything else.
Whenever I put together a new rig, I'm forced to catch up with the new technology, so once built, I'll probably just fade away like yesterday's news. But this seemed the friendliest place of the forums I've looked in on. I realize some questions might be mundane to the highly experienced people, and I understand that, so I do search the best I can so I don't even have to ask. Again, maybe my search skills are sorely lacking.

Anyway, thanks to all for real answers. And, to TTL, I'll still watch your vids because they're entertaining and provide good info.

Now, the reason i asked...
I received a new copy of Windows 7. When I slid the jewel case from the sleeve, either the product key was torn going in, or torn coming out, but it was torn and a number was illegible. After fighting with Microsoft, and sending photos, they provided the product key code, but no new sticker. So, being thick headed as I am, I decided to try to find out how others keep the key safe..

Tattoos... I don't have any. My Dear Old Dad always warned against them, in spite of having many himself, and many not ready for prime time, but that was a different era.. But, since I'm a blank canvas, it's something to consider!

Think you'll find we are all a friendly bunch and anyone who isn't usually leaves within a short period of time.

Most things we don't usually take too seriously hence tom's famously (possibly alternative) sense of humour :)

Stick around and I'm sure you will feel right at home. I too usually have to have a catch up when it comes to new hardware (and quickly forget it) but recently been doing a lot more builds for people. Usually you can't go wrong with asking for a bit of advice :)
