Problems with OCZ Gold DDR3 Ram

right, i'm using 4GB of ocz gold ddr3 memory rated to run at 1600 mhz

i'm using it with a Q6600 and a gigabyte ep43t-usb3 motherboard

to start with, their website says it should run at 1.65v but the motherboard only has options for 1.4 or 1.6

and secondly, i just cannot get it to 1600 at all, its only stable now at 1440

is it anything to do with timings? got it on 8-8-8-24 now :/

help?

total ram overclocking nub here :(

You need to update your bios dude for more voltage options, but tbh you have a real basic mobo so you may just be shafted. The fact your ram runs at 1.65v sounds like you have bought P55 ram anyways. Your board was designed for 1.8/1.9v ddr3 ram. the fact its at 1.6v could be the main reason tbh, update the bios and hope for the best otherwise you might have to either put up with it or try slackening off the timings.

i meant to put the coltges at 1.64 or 1.66 not 1.4 or 1.6 but that still means its either undervolted or over, updated the bios but all that did was make me have to redo all my bios settings haha

yeah the packaging of the ram says its made for i5 systems. got it at 1440 which is pretty sweet i guess, and it means i've got some decent ram if or when i upgrade :)

cheers tom

1.64 and 166 is the norma tbh fella so dwai.

Can you tell me your overclock settings dude as its probably just a memory divider issue.

It will NOT run stable at 1600MHz. I made sure the timings were correct (8-8-8-24) as well as the voltage (1.654v) but mementoes won't even start and any memory intensive program in windows causes the computer to hang and I have to hard reset.
