Problems with GeForce 7800GT and bundled game FarCry

Hi, I need some help with a problem...

When I play FarCry on my new system (see http://www.sysxtreme.com/showpost.php?p=47468&postcount=12) , the sound breaks up and sometimes the game-play locks too (although I can quit to the menu screen and back to Windows).

I have patched the game to 1.33 and the XFX GeForce 7800GT drivers to 81.94 (which was a pain in itself because Microsoft made me re-activate over the phone :cussing:).

Has anyone else seen these problems, or has any suggestions how to get the game working again?

Thanks.

Adam.

the only sugestion i might have is that it might be overheating...the solution if it is that is to get a better cooler for it...maybe an artic cooling Nvidia cooler?

yeah, check the temps for us mate

Temp at the gfx card during game play is 34 C. Not high at all.

The sound seems to get stuck when I drive the jeep - then stays stuck forever.

Occasionally the video goes later, but not often.

BTW, this only started happening when I updated my gfx drivers & the patched game (DOH - shouldn't have done them both the same day).

You should have 81.95...

I noticed this was available, but I've been putting off updating again until I have good reason, because following the update to 81.94, Microsoft :jerkit: made me phone up and re-activate.

Oh well, spose I'd better give it a try then.
