Problem with HDMI PC

So as some of you know i am trying to get audio through HDMI. and it works fine. I have the HDMI plugged into my 6990 up to my Samsung P2770h monitor and i am using the 3.5 audio out jack on the back of the monitor to my speakers, so all the sound works. But now my video sucks ass! No matter what i do i can not get 1920x1080 to fill the entire screen, there is always a border around. This is the same problem analogue video signals suffer from so why is it happening to a digital cable? i have tried the scanning feature to overscan a bit but all that does is make the image worse, and it leaves a border on the left and right side of the screen. HOW DO I FIX THIS!?

overscan in CCC???? fixed it???? thats what I had to use to get my old AMD card to fill screen

naa overscan did not fix it. there was something in my monitor.
