Problem adding a mech hard drive

In my system I've currently got 3 ssd's a 60gb, a 128gb, and a 256gb, and want to add my 1tb Seagate Baracuda, but there lies the problem, for some reason it won't boot when this is plugged in, the little windows spiny thing just keeps spinning, but as soon as I unplug the mech windows boots as normal within 2 seconds.

The ssd's are plugged into slot, 1,2, and 4, it's in 4 and not 3 because of the 90 degree cable. I've tried the mech in all of the remaining empty slots and still nothing.

The mech has an old copy of W7 from a previous build would this be having an adverse reaction to my current os on the ssd ? I've got no way to format the drive, unless I build a complete rig out of spare parts, so a bit of a pain if I need to format this bloody drive. Any ideas fellow OC3D'ers ?

Make sure it doesn't try to boot from the HDD.

That was the first thing I checked in the bios, just to make sure my boot drive was still allocated.

Is the HDD recognized in the bios?

Might be an old windows install that's not compatible with what I'm assuming is a different motherboard than it was installed on.

Can you boot into a windows install from disk or USB and format the HDD from there?

Lastly, it *could* have to do something with your bootloader. I doubt it, but it could be. You can unplug your drive, boot into your current OS install and use a program like EasyBCD to reinstall your bootloader or pick a new one entirely.
Do not shut off the PC after removing your current bootloader when you've not set a new one yet

My brother is having a similar problem with a 1tb seagate barracuda, except we got it to launch but we can't find it in disk management, or most places except the BIOS so we can't format it

Does the drive get recognized in bios at least? I'd try to put a linux distro(ubuntu/mint) on a usb drive and boot into it to see if you can access that HDD.
