Well I may be upgrading to 64 next year so an MSI nforce4 is not out of the question .

I like the abundance of features on the MSI board. :D

Need help gauging what wattage PSU you need in your system? Check out this calculator to give you a rough estimage.

Also remember that not all power supplies are created equal, so in general try to stick to the following brands:

Antec

Enermax

OCZ

PC Power & Cooling

Tagan

u still reccomending tagan after wat happened xms???

that thing cant be accurate no 2 pci cards have a set power requirements and some require extra power connectors but its gd for a rough estimate just add a bit extra :P

Best to read a few reviews rather than rely on the manufacturers spec. What's written on the box is often a complete fantasy.

I'd go Seasonic S12 series.

The calculator works for me.

I thought some motherboards or chips required a minium Watt powersupply espically AMD chips or boards. i think it was about 350 Watt minium.

Also i've heard that the higher Watt power supply you get the more reliable the system is. Anyone know if this is true?

wooo i got a 400watt enthermax and it recomends 530watt or something like that :S

hope its not that acrate

Please check the dates on Threads before bringing them back up! ;)

I find this calculator pretty accurate. I have an electronic watt meter which tells me the usage of my PC. Normal use is about 250W. When my 8800GTX is running hard I use 365 watts maximum. The calculator tells me 384 watts.

But this is what I am using. Not the size of the power supply that I require. The amps obviously also need to be taken into consideration but I only used the Lite version.

It says I need a 458watt PSU (Where can I find on of those, lol). And I am using a 430watt Antec that I purchased before I contracted the upgrading bug. I will probably get a 700watt PSU to safe gaurd me against any future upgrades.
