Power Supply Requirement

Hi,

I am looking forward to my build with the following specs.

Case: Corsair c600t (White)
MB: Asus Maximus V Gene
CPU: i7-3770K
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB (1600MHz)
GPU: Asus DC2 GTX680 - 2GB
Cooler: Corsair H100i
HDD: 1TB Seagate Barracuda
SSD: Not Yet Decided
And some Bitfenix Alchemy Blue Lighting (1 30cm should be enough I guess)
PSU: Corasir TX650

This would be my first build, so I just wanted to make sure if the 650watt PSU would be enough, even if I overclock my CPU.
This is not me first PC, but this would be my own built PC. :)

Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Thank You for the prompt reply SavageCupcake :-)

Yea maybe in the future I'll get SLI (not for atleast 6 to 8 months)
But then I was also planning to upgrade my MB and CPU. At that time maybe I'll get the 750 or the 850 one.

Cheers!

if you really want to get an SLi setup you might as well just start with a corsair ax860i. else it's just money wasted on the other PSU.

750w for 680 sli is more then you will ever need. The 650w will power that system and some. My water cooled rig only pulls 475w from the wall

Yea. True. That makes sense.

I'll need to check again with my retailer, if he has not yet shipped the 650W. I was so eager, I ordered it yesterday only. :(
If he is ready to cancel my previous order, I'll get the 750W PSU.

Thank You all, for the guidance. I'll update once the build is finished.

Cheers! :)

Yes. The Corsair TX750 one.

I talked with my reatiler and he had already dispatched the TX650 one. Would need to hung onto it until my next upgrade.

Yea.

Anyways I am planning to buy a bigger MB after the next gen CPUs are launched (if they are worth that extra penny being spent).
Which will also allow me to get good airflow, if I get the SLI setup instead of being a bit conjusted in the Maximus V Gene.
And get the 750W PSU.

Lets see. I still need to complete my first build! And I am already dreaming.. :p
