and I think I'll stick to my brother's car as the second driver until im like 25 which then I'll get my first ever car (maybe)

That will go down well when you wrap it round a tree, but seriously mate just get something half decent for a 1st car and start building up some no claims.

i've been in a honda civic Vtec, and BOY does it fly, a mate of mine from college, his friend has one, sat in the front seat, when he puts his foot down, is scarey, fun, but scarey, i was clinging onto the seatbelt for dear life, 0 - 60 in about 4 seconds, 0 - 100 in about 8 - 9 :p

civics do tend to have lower insurance don't they, not the current models. Not sure about the VTEC ones.

My brother has a civic VTEC which he pays just over half a grand

Unless he's modded it severely it'll go 0-62 in about 7ish seconds

lol just try to get a quote from a UK insurer when you're newly qualified on a VTEC Civic, they could do with a laugh :p

After two years of no claims (was on Dad's policy whilst at Uni), at age 24 I had to pay £1300 for a Clio Sport

Lol.. all young boys want a chavved up motor.. Ide be damn happy with any car, Your looking at £2000 a year for a 1.2 yaris... Never mind a civic vtec.

old skool VW or something for me xD

d0nt wanna spend much on first car...perhaps change the speakers but nothing external (st00pid spoilers etc.)

he has, aswell as Vtec, and stage one tuneing, and a big, BIG turbo bolted on, aswell as removing the airbacgs to make it more lightweight

and for a laugh, i'd try and insure myself on a ferari enzo :p

So he's an idiot then?

Whats he done to the brakes? Modded them I hope?

Will go with the VTEC option as they are kinda powerful than the normal.
Kinda more powerful? Think again. Dual cam, twin turbo, a VTEC with that setup would smoke alot of things on the road right now.

and lastly throw in 2x 1000Watts subs with an AMP
I sure hope your going to have an amp that can handle the impedance of 2 seperate 1000watt subs.

Ah, my first car is a 1998 Chrysler Cirrus - It's actually a decent sedan despite having 145,000 miles on it and it gets 25-30mpg even though it's a V6. It suites me, goes fast when I want it to, and is nice and safe. Plus it has leather seats, cruise control, power everything, it's pretty well stacked.

What's up with all these japanese cars? Everybody knows Germany makes cars, Japan/Korea/Asia in general makes vehicles. :P I'm kinda full of it after buying a BMW, which is far superior to any car I've ever driven, and believe me when I say I have driven A LOT of cars. ;) As far as tuning and styling goes, I'm leaving that to people with a lot of money and nothing else to spend it on. I've got other bills to pay, and don't care about tuning the car. And what's the use for an 18 year old to ride a fast car when he's not able to handle it yet? When you've had your licence for about 5 years or so, you can call yourself an experienced driver, and then you could invest in a speedmonster. Just my opinion though.

Agreed on the tuning and handling of cars, especially with youngsters...but no way on the Jap cars

Jap cars are superb, nothing beats them for reliability, innovation, performance and (sometimes) looks

VW's are so easy to work on.

Now where on earth did you get that from? :P They are pure evil when it comes to working on, like they were assembled in hell. I used 9 hours to switch the gearbox on my old Golf IV, and after that I swore never to work on a VW ever again. :P

ceramique disks, i believe he said...and they're all tuned in the same way as the rest of the car...

i cant say i know that much about cars, but we went from 100 to 0 in about two seconds, almost sending everyone through the windscreen :p

Would be good if ceramic brakes did that. What you're describing would be vented carbon ceramic discs about twice the size of the standard ones with new calipers with double or more the amount of pistons, a whole new pump and feed system and tyres worth more than the original car.

And the list of modifications you would need to make to a civic (will list if you fancy a read) to get its fat ass to 62 in 4 seconds would be epic and exceed the wallet of the majority of people

Anyone who spends that on a Civic would be an idiot for sure, the list of hardware required for that would be mental.

I don't think they even make ceramic breaks for Civics and if they did you'd be talking 1000's for just the parts.
