Im tempted to install and play around with my W8.1(currently on W7) and this mod/layout is making me want to really do it.

A HUGE amount of fiddling around, http://virtualcustoms.net is a good place to start
Plus I just updated the post so you might want to have another look

Cinema 4D, i had anti aliasing pretty high and it was a complex material too. Blurry reflections all that jazz.

It took me 4 1/2hrs to render that... but I literally opened the file and told it to render. Didn't change any settings.
