not to sure as it pre set in the nvidia raid, i think it is set at 64K, but i might be wrong

I just tried 64K the first post was 32K these are my results

The CPU utilization is down to 3% & I get slightly better preformance so i'm gonna use this setting from now on:D

Looking good, this bench is on a clean drive but looking good, will format mine somtime and do a clean install as i have about 40GB used on my drive at the mo so will see what sort of bench that will give my drives, but as for your Hitachi MK1;s very good.

Just a bit...show equally silly numbers for average read and I`ll be SERIOUSLY impressed

How many drives?

Nice one Mav, i think there must be a problem though with the disk drives as you should be showing more performance than my two drives, make sure sata II is enabled on all drives and set them to fast read with the software you downloaded, i think you should see about 500MB/s + with 3x drives in raid

I think 3 drives benefit from quicker average read speeds than the burst speed itself - the rest of the system is at stock, will add overclocked results later (if it makes a difference that is) :)

15K Atlas SCSI on a 39160 controller

Lets see what else it can do......

PCM05 seems to put it around the same performance as a 2-way Spinpoint stripe hmmmmm I was hoping for slightly better given the access times

I had a load of numbers that I managed to lose coz i`m a dumbass...I tested file transfers between all my HDD setups (file transfer of 1.91GB, 6 folders) and the SCSI is 10-20% faster than a single Samsung Spinpoint

rough numbers from memory:

Single SATA to SATA RAID (3-way spinpoint): 53 ishhh seconds

Single SATA to Single SCSI: 56 ishhhh

SATA RAID (3-way spinpoint) to single SCSI: 47 ishhh

SATA RAID (3-way spinpoint) to Single SATA: 54 ishhh

Single SCSI to Single SATA: 58 ishh

Single SCSI to SATA RAID (3-way spinpoint): 37 ishhh

non-ideal transfers, assuming machine has been on for a while and being used. Think those numbers are about right
