Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

I actually this time bought it out right which for me is odd as I do usually sell older hardware, A little frugal that way :p but 2017 was an epicly crap year and wanted something cool to cheer me up :)

Elite Dangerous, Just WOW in VR, Everyone that has tried my Rify CV1 has said 1 thing "Holy sh** this is amazing".

It is good. Although the SRV turned my stomach badly.

While not a single purchase as such, I did get my final parts for my side rig at the weekend which is now up and running.

I won't lie, going back to Windows XP is a really weird experience to say the least

Corsair H150i 360mm AIO which launched today, 2 x Corsair HDRGB fans and the Creative Sound Blaster X AE-5 as I want to try it out, A lot of people have been really surprised as to how good it actually is.

It's funny, but I never wanted to have an external DAC/amp because I wanted to maintain Windows control over sound, but since moving to an external unit, I wouldn't want to go back.

I like my desk to be exceptionally sparse, Monitor, Mouse, Mouse mat, Keyboard and over hanging microphone, Nothing else, Hence I opted for an internal soundcard :)

I don't like clutter, but I like having everything I use regularly within hand's reach. My knife, lip balm, tablet, phone, plectrum, guitar, tuner, glass of water, controller, etc.

OK this is some of the stuff I bought over the Xmas period. It has started arriving slowly..

First up I wanted a killer set of wheels for my killer GT. BMX wheels will cost (note will, not may) about £400 for a decent custom set by the time you have had them laced etc. So I spent weeks looking on Ebay to no avail. Loads of decent front wheels, but no sodding rears. In the end I found these. The front is a Spotlight Superstar sealed hub (NOS) laced to a Shadow Orbis rim (NOS) with new spokes.

The rear is a Proper rim (NOS) with a Salt Plus sealed cassette (used but like new) and new spokes.

Let us know how this works out for you.

Will do, Arrives tomorrow morning, I'll get pics and temps up running my 1800X at 4.1GHz :)

On a side note Creative seriously hit the ball out of the park with the AE-5, WOW is all I can say, Comparing it to the Asus STXII, It's better, Hard to believe I know since they ballsed up the "Z" series of cards but wow, Really, Wow !

Creative are back in the game !

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the SBZ. It was a fine sound card. And that is having one in the same rig as a D2X and a Tit HD. Hell, even the Recon 3D aboard my old Aliewnare board was pretty damn good.

I got a refund on the ZX around the same day I bought it, Not a good card compared to the likes of the STXII, This AE-5 or heck even the older Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium fatal1ty Edition.

This areas very subjective though :)

Speaking of sound, I got tired of my Steelseries Siberia V2 headset with its stupid, heavy ass cables dragging everywhere, so I grabbed myself a pair of AKG K52's. Not the best headphones out there, but my budget was only €30 and I got these for €27, so no complaints.

Technically the card could not be faulted (tests are done using recording equipment, it can't put stuff there that simply isn't). But yes it is subjective. Gawd, when I used to switch between my Tit HD and D2X the difference was night and day ! Tit HD has a much, much better mid range and treble. By miles. But the D2X sounds more solid and goes down low much better. The Z for me combined the best of both. Some people claimed it was too bass heavy but again subjective and all completely depends on which headphones you are using.

The Tit HD was the clear winner on clarity for me though, which is why it is now stuffed up the surround rig's jacksie. It sounds incredible through my Scandyna stuff.

Noice ! last night I fixed the issue I was having with my Madcatz M.O.J.O and got it streaming from my NAS. I was sooooo happy :D

I bought a set of Corsair K70 keys for nothing. Well, I did give the guy the postage of £3 odd and a fiver for a pint. But, that should sort out the £20 mech board I bought. The keys on it are light, flimsy and shiny. So whenever you hit a key by touch you get forced onto the edge of the one next to it. Hateful thing tbh surprised it's still in one piece.

I had 2 x of the Sapphire 580X Limited Editions, On their own they were great but holy crap, Crossfire sucked.

That's weird. My two Gigabyte G-1 Gaming RX-480s were great in Crossfire.
Same with my two ASUS Strix RX-580s.

I got rid of all of them to get a pair of GTX-1070s and a pair of GTX-1080FE cards.
I don't regret it, but the RX cards were pretty good.

My Blu-ray hall is in:

My collection updated. I have no idea what I'm going to do when I fill the shelf up.

Damn!
Nice bunch of BluRay movies.
I'd love to own more than half of them!

Thanks! I started collecting Blu-rays specifically in 2012 so it's five years worth. I think the first Blu-ray I bought was the Clint Eastwood collection (it has the Dollars Trilogy in it and Hang 'Em High). I rewatched them the other day.
