Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

So my dad just pulled these out of his man-cave (hence the dust). He said "some buttons didn't work" which is why he bought a new set. Now I've got them home it seems to be only supported with some legacy Vista based software but it all seems to work with compatibility mode; I even had some basic control in Elite Dangerous.

However my dad was absolutely right, the antenna, microstick and range are completely unresponsive when trying to manually calibrate and I can't really comment on all the other buttons. The throttle axis also tips over into the opposite pole when fully towards me.

Is it worth trying to fix these or am I better off still aiming for Thrustmaster T.1600M FCS Hotas?

I'm of the whats easiest way of thinking so would go with getting something newer, on the grounds it's more lightly to have built in game support and driver support.
If you live in the Uk and have a CEX near you, they may have a t.flight x for £20

Thanks for the advice I may end up going that route depending on how the next day or so goes.

I've spent the last few hours tinkering and experimenting with the Cougar system in CCP and ED and it turns out that the stick and rudder pedals work absolutely fine. Flawlessly in fact. It's just the throttle unit that reports the primary axis incorrectly and doesn't register the other axes and buttons.

I'll take the throttle apart and see if I can't fix it without further investment. Otherwise it'll be down to how patient I can be and my bank balance as to whether I plump for a T.Flight X or 16000M. I did have a quick look for a replacement Cougar throttle in the vain hope I could get one around the price of the T.Flight but couldn't find one on its own.

[UPDATE] I've managed to repair the throttle. Turns out the connector in the base that linked to the buttons on the handle had worked loose. I also dismantled and reseated the throttle mechanism which sorted the calibration issues.

I am now the proud owner of a Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar flight system all for the massive cost of £0. To say I'm chuffed would be a massive understatement.

Peanut butter, Almond butter and Cashew butter, Expensive but oh so worth it, Some good healthy fats and a 5KG pouch of Cinnamon Whey protein isolate with added BCAA's as the pea protein was intolerable ^_^

My ex brother in law once gave me a protein shake and I crapped my pants. It literally ran through me.

Not a good idea for some one with chronic IBS. Even one cup of coffee has me going three times a day !

Strange, it does opposite to me. What did you hydrate it with? milk?

Thank you, Thought I'd treat myself, 2017 was an epicly bad year.

haha no s**t brother ! divorce, uncle died of cancer, getting evicted soon etc. I am hopeful that 2018 will be better, though tbh I don't believe in all that fanny. It's just another day closer to death lol. Which is no bad thing, I guess :D

BTW you have to vertical mount that GPU. You just have to, no matter what it takes.

Edit. Good stuff ! that will teach me not to read the last page of posts before posting :D
