Acer XF240YU 24" TN 1Ms 1440P 144Hz 40Hz-144Hz Freesync, 24" is my sweet spot for a monitor and I was ok with 1080P for a while but the jaggies in a few games was starting to annoy me -

So my Fiio E10 started going a bit funny in the right channel, after stripping her down checking the solder for dry joints and administering switch cleaner to the potentiomiter it's still no good... so retirement it is for the trusty little fellow and hello to the new member of the Wraith family.

I would check over the LD mate, as I have sent three of those back to Amazon. One LD1 and two LD2. All three suffered solder failure around the valve sockets. Now when I build valve amps I put in a butt load of solder to those joints.
It seems that in China they are very mean with solder. Shame, as I loved my LDs

Oh yeah they sound fantastic. Personally preferred the LD1, as it has a much stronger amp. Doesn't sound as good, because it isn't true valve, but yeah for my larger cans it was a hoot.
I think if I ever get another one I will get a kit and build it myself. The parts and components used are more than up to the task, they are just rushed together and that shows when the solder goes.
It's not just valve amps. My ex wife had this fag battery charger and it used to literally shoot sparks out the back if you moved the cable. I took it apart and there was a tiny dribble of solder holding in the 240v + pin for the socket. Put on a nice big dollop, sorted.

So my Acer monitor arrived the other day, All was going well but then I turned it on this morning and a big line of black pixels right in the center.
Sending it back and putting a little bit more towards the 32" Samsung 4K Quantum Dot QLED panel with Freesync.

Honestly I haven't got a clue, I think I just have some severe bad luck with monitors, Everything else I'm fine with, Hell, GPU's I seem to have really good luck with winning the silicon lottery but panels seem to hate me.

Because monitors are atrocious. Dice isn't the only one to experience such bad luck. At this stage it has nothing to do with fortune, luck or whatever, it starts becoming crappy workmanship fobbed off as 'features you need to be a top gamerbro.'

Corsair PBT Double-shot Keycaps in black for my K95 Platinum, The stock keycaps are ok but the PBT ones allow the lights to shine better due to the way they are constructed and are much higher quality, Also feel a lot better.
