Got bored of "Format Unplayable" or no sound from files, rather than upgrade to a new TV when there is nothing wrong with ours other than the limited file formats.

Just a few bits.

Had a fairly large number of changes to my build since I first switched over to the S340. The most recent being two new monitors, some shiny Corsair SP120's, a single AF120 and a single AF140, along with an R9 290X Matrix Platinum.

You're going to need some serious airflow over that 290X Matrix, I had the 290X Matrix and I took it back mere days after the purchase, It made my side window hot XD

The problem is they used the 780 Ti Matrix cooling block and there are some areas of the heatsink that don't actually touch parts that need cooling, Very sloppy of Asus.

Yes, I've since discovered this for myself. I mostly play Diablo3, and for that I never hit above 50°c. However, when running GTAV with everything turned to max, I hit 76°c in about 4 minutes flat.

I only paid €246 for the GPU though, and consider the performance boost I've gotten, and my now empty (and likely to stay that way) wallet, I'll not be returning the card any time soon. I had considered selling off my Nepton, going back to stock cooling, and trying to piece together a water cooling loop from a Raijintek Triton and a second hand WC block. for the GPU.

How likely that is I do not know, but I'll have to see what I can manage.

EDIT: I should also say that the GPU is new and unused.

Hmm, having looked at water block prices for the R9 290X, it's going to be a very long time before I have that sort of cash spare.

Would this be OK to use? http://www.ebay.de/itm/Alphacool-Ne...plate-black-/121764685695?hash=item1c59bda77f It's going really cheap, and if it stays that low I may be able to afford the rest.

2 x Corsair SP140mm White LED fans to replace the stock fans on my Corsair AIO :)
Wish they had those in a non-RGB version :(
I ordered AF140's to go on the H110i GTX since I really don't like the leds, the stock fans actually look like they're the AF series anyway

Just got this in the mail:

86 is still well within tolerance - iirc they go to 95 before they should throttle?

It's a choice - f you are concerned about noise then you live with those temps. If temps are more important then put the push/pull back in and have it set up so the fans only ramp up with the temps.
That way when you're not playing anything strenuous for the CPU the system is a lot quieter.

That's good to know. Thanks for the answers and advice guys, I really appreciate it. It's been a long time since I ran an AMD card and I guess the high temps were freaking me out a bit.
