Finally a good backup drive

For some but I find 1080P at 27" perfect for my eyes, Means I can sit back a good distance from the screen and still read everything :)

Fair play Dice I hope your BenQ is good. Big thanks for the offer on your Samsung btw but i'm glad somebody else got it so I still have some cash short term, it probably wasn't exactly what I needed either.

I could do with a free ROG Swift and then I could sell my U2713 and get a U2414 for Insomnia. Additionally 47" is too big for 1080p and OMG is the new screen at the Cinema in Derby awesome. Just got back from watching Lucy, twas epic. Curved screen sony 4k projector with Dolby Atmos, absolutely next level AV.

How is the brightness on your Benq?

I had the 2411T and the brightness settings were complete Sh**.

Luckily I found a profile online that helped it, but still that was my only gripe with the monitor. Default brightness could have melted my eyes.

Really good once configured :)

Think I'll put mine up for sale. Just gathers dust under my desk now that I have the Swift.

I had a chance at getting the swift but after trying it I can't see what all the fuss is about to be honest, G-Sync is mehh and going from 1080P to 1440P to my eyes is quite a tiny jump so not worth it for me.

Actually it wasnt the G sync im most impressed with. Although in BF4, Watchdogs and other high intensive GPU games there is a "big" difference seen in my eyes. Especially watchdogs and its crap optimisation for SLI. It was actually silky smooth!

The quality of the screen is probably one of the best I have seen for a TN panel. I don't care about the negative comments about viewing angle because frankly when I use it I sit in front of it. It's pricey but hey.. new tech always is.

The only upside to for me vs the BenQ XL2720Z 144Hz is the speed of which it turns on ^_^

Where did you try the swift Dice? I haven't even seen one yet.

JR

A work friend got one, I tried it for a few hours on various games and after looking at both I went for the BenQ :)

Just seemed the better buy seeing as I couldn't notice the difference between 144Hz and G-Sync and I always run games at 1080P because I can't tell that much of a difference when in 1440P apart from a few less jaggies, Just the way my eyes work I guess ^_^

Oh cool, yeah depending on the games and how you play/what you use it for 1440P isn't a massive deal. I use mine for a lot of CAD work and the extra resolution is just enough to comfortably have two parts open without totally ruining websites and the OS. I'm also convinced that when my PS3 is running at 720P it looks substantially better on a 1440P screen than a 1080P, thats not a big issue anymore but while I have the graphics power I would always want 1440P now. Combining that with 144Hz would be awesome, just cash. I was going to buy a 4930K and a ROG Swift for my big build but then decided to start a little build instead. It was a great idea tbh and I actually didn't go mental expensive with it so i'm very pleased on the whole.

My to buy list is freaking huge now: Corsair M65 RGB, ROG Swift, Smaller 1080P screen for JR2.0 roaming although I could poten. steal one from my mates, a mic and a set of headphones. And I do really want a set of Beyerdynamic DT990 Manufaktur's because when I saw these pants were jizzed. And I kind of need most of that before November and I need to pay Pexon and I also need to book i53.

Those do look nice, I fell in love with all things Sennheiser not too long ago and got myself some Sennheiser G4ME Zero's :)

Hopefully some of the final cables I need for my new pc. kinda annoying having an external button to turn it on at the moment. Fan stuff is for the rad and for the incredibly noisy noctua fan.

OOO Dice what are those Seinheisers like? I saw uravgconsumer review them and really liked them but it was just an unboxing so was going to look them up on their sound quality.

They are faptastic, After coming from Razer Tiamat 7.1's and even Corsair 1500's, The Sennheisers make love to your ears.

No point in going above a certain Hz with headphones nowadays because the human ear simply can't hear it, I believe it's 28,000 Hz, Anything above you can sort of feel but not hear and is just pure E-Peen.

In short, They are sexually orgasmic ^_^

STFU I can see 28'000 Hz n00b.

Ahahah they do look good, and they have a mic, just kinda fallen in love with the beyers but not sure about spending another £100 for something less practical.

Hahaha ^_^

I remember when I was in college and I just got a pair of crappy ear buds for my mp3 player a class mate came up to me and said check these out, 32,000Hz, Obviously they sounded better than my £10 Asda cans but one of our science teachers was there.

He tested the guy and a few of us with a simple sound test with I believe an oscilloscope and something else I forget and most people couldn't hear above 20,000Hz.

Interesting how the human body works :)

You can't actually hear anything above ~20kHz, but if a driver has a higher spectrum it means that it would probably have better sensibilities on audible frequencies
