Bought 4 new Goodyear tires for my 91 Lincoln yesterday. On the way home I stopped for gas, with the car setting there stopped a wheelcover fell off. I finished pumping gas and moved the car since they were busy, prices were down. I got in my toolbox I always have in the trunk and got out a rubber mallet to put it back on. I sat right there and called the tire store. They sounded like they could give a rats ass. I got home, ate and calmed down.

Tonight on the way to the market another wheelcover comes off at 30 MPH. I had to go down the road a bit to turn around. I looked for 20 minutes. I'd gone further down the road and around the block to come up a side road to park and walk. Not a good thing with my bad ankles and knees, so at that moment I could have strangled the little wanker that did the job. Out of the corner of my eye in deep grass I saw something as I was about to park the car. Yep, my wheelcover. I bend over to pick it up and I repulled a back muscle that had just gotten better.

I'm calling corporate headquarters Monday. A friend asked why am I making it into a big deal since I found it. I think about the 3 old folk couples that were there when I was getting tires. What if it happened to them? What if I'd not found them or they'd gotten damaged when I was doing 70+ MPH on the highway? I should not have to be doing their fucking job. Lastly, I already checked and due to the age of the car there are no used matching wheelcovers anywhere around me and the cheapest I could get a new one that matches is $75.00 USD. A dealership, forget them, I'd have to sell the car to afford the wheelcover from them.

One of these is winding it's way towards me (In that exact color as well ;D), I need a new laptop and decided that the money I've had saved for a new graphics card would be better spent on something I occasionally need for work. It's one of the ones that folds around backwards which would normally be a recipe for disaster but considering anything lenovo/IBM my family owned works I'm not worried.
