Picked up a Logitech G403 Hero to retire the old Razer Naga Epic my friend had given me a while back. Wireless wasn't hugely valuable for me and the G203 seemed too small, this seemed to be the perfect match of a simple large mouse with a good sensor(Even if I use it at 400dpi it's nice to have more consistency, fewer spin outs and such).

I'm seeing some nice 3D printed shells for this mouse. Looks like a decent one.
Ooo can you link any? Whether project logs or designs? I've heard the top housing comes off easily enough, it'd be nice if I could elongate the end a cm or two.

How do you use a mouse at 400 dpi? That sounds and seems very low, and almost way to slow for daily use or am I missing something here? :huh:

is it that bad? was thinking of a slight translucent blue with food colouring.
Not sure, never had any issues, I originally set it this low for accuracy+consistency (so my mouse movements are definitely intentional). I have to essentially pixel bang with some tools I use so it helps a lot(I have the DPI button just set as a toggle between that and 100DPI too for really fiddly software).
Do you have the Windows mouse settings on notch 6 where it's 1:1?
For me it's about 5 inches of mouse movement to go from one side of a 1080p screen to another or about 3 inches top to bottom, never had much issue even with multiple screens but I do have a big mouse mat and a tiny keyboard.

I don't think you can use food colouring dude.
There's a high chance that at some point you will suffer a leak. Probably from your own stupidity usually (holds up hand, about five times) and thus anything with colouring in it will stain your clothing and towels you rush to throw on the carpet, which it will also stain.
But yeah, unless you use pre made coolant you will need all sorts of crap. Biocides, anti fungal and so on. For years now I have only used XSPC EC6, given it is ethelene glycol free (which is poison). It's completely non toxic, so if you end up with a mouthful (yup, done that too priming a pump) it won't make you ill or kill you.
Thankfully it also inhibits galvanic corrosion too. Which is basically where two or more different types of metal or plating can react with each other, making corrosion and a real mess in your loop.
Also avoid anything opaque, or with any additives in it that are non liquid (so colour shifting, Mayhem's Pastel etc). Quite simply because they use suspended materials that break down. And when they do it can be catastrophic.

Now "Mick" who runs Mayhems will blame anyone and everyone for this failure. Same thing happened to Tom. He said, and I quote "Your using the wrong tubing". How can there be a wrong tubing for a water component? please.
After that it then separates, and you find out what makes it opaque like that. Some sort of powdery substance, probably talc or something alike. It lasts for about two months, if you are lucky and after three it does what I showed up there. Turns to poo, and takes a cloggy crap in your pump. Which then eventually stops your pump and or burns it out.
There's a reason why "Mick" stopped supporting his product and just vanished into that shadows, and that's because they are crap.
I also couldn't recommend the coolant someone bought recently because "It was cheaper" than the EC6, yet when he had a leak it burnt out his 2080Ti. Yet it is supposed to be non conductive
I've had multiple leaks, all over my electronics. GPUs, PSUs, touch screen panels, and I have had nothing die.
If you really want to go with coloured coolant (I've use EC6 both green and red) then by all means do, but do note they will stain and ruin anything they touch. Including, over time, clear tubing. Eventually it loses its sheen, and the tubing starts to turn strange colours.

Water cooling for me is a fine balance between raw performance, low noise (or none, depending on what you are cooling) and looks. Looks come last, believe me. If, however, you have the skill to take something complex yet incredibly simple and then make it look half decent, with all of the benefits? you've done well.

Oh and I have used enormous hose too (19mm, the biggest) and it offered no extra cooling benefits and was a nightmare to get it to go where I wanted it. It constantly put strain on my rotaries (causing them to leak) and so on.

There isn't much advice I would usually listen to in this world. Mainly because I like to experience things myself, but water cooling is one I wish I had listened to more.
Not on the rotaries, as no one warned me with pressure they can become unseated and leak, but yeah "enter with caution" comes to mind.

Bit of a necro to quote this, but it all boils down to distance... 1440p is IMO the perfect resolution currently as it enables high framerate by having ~half the pixels of 4K, but still looks nice.
I've got my 27" 1440p around 60cm from me, so 32" slightly further back would be equivalent.

That's what every one says. 4k means you need the highest end GPU every single generation to keep up. That wasn't so bad at £500, but a good high end GPU now costs three times that much.
I could have stuck with my Titan XP or the 2070 I have in there now. Both are more than adequate for 1440p anything. However, I had a bit of luck so just made sure I was good for however long it might be before I go ham again.
The Titan XP was fine at first for all 4k gaming. However over the last year it started to creak. Things like Control etc? yeah, no chance really.

Bought this as an impulse buy. Am really getting tired of my wired mouse, Corsair Ironclaw. I bought it to replace an old original Corsair M65 mouse. Mouse was great and did everything I needed, but was heavy. So the ironclaw. Loved it but recently after switching my desk setup around to how I like it, the cable just tugs on everything. SUPER annoying. So bought the G Pro. Pretty excited for a wireless mouse as its speed is on par with wired. Sounds like a no brainer.
Would have gotten the G305 but people kept saying how much smaller it is and isn't for everyone. I have relatively large hands(or at least I feel like it, could also be how I grip the mouse) so the bigger size will be something I enjoy I am sure.
