Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

There are some cheapo boards around the 200-300 mark but for a top end one with all the bells and whistles :

You are paying way way over the top of the Asrock board, Just get an Asus Crosshair VIII Hero, Stick an AIO on it and call it a day ^_^

Lol you've picked the most ridiculous board possible.

Ch8 and etc are high end boards dude.

The price of them.

When I got my 7900X a just under 2 years ago I had my heart set on the Rampage 6 Extreme. That board was top of the range and was £500!

According to ASUS the paint alone added £100 to the cost. How are boards £1000!? (coming from the mug who paid £800 for a 7900X).

Most of the stuff on very high end boards is superfluous. Kinda like this X99 Godlike I have. I'll never even use most of it.

CH8 is top end IMO.

Also. What block have you got FTLN? are you sure the manu don't make mounts for AM4?

EK velocity, doesnt support AM4 :(

That's eggy, and would put me off of EK in future. Mostly because this...

So they used to sell mounting kits but now don't. That sucks. I have a 8 year old solid brass Aquacomputer block and can get AM4 mounts for it.

EK going down the McDonalds rabbit hole.
I'd like to see how Phanteks Galcier blocks perform long term, won't deny they look brilliant but can't confirm longetivity.

Also, amidst the great big 'meh' that is Black Friday so far. Picked this up at half price:

Next PC is going to come when AMD move off AM4 and onto AM5 with DDR5 and PCIe 5.0

EK has been going the Corsair route for the past couple of years (products getting worse in quality, prices going up). I won't use EK for blocks (Watercool HeatKiller all the way). I did get an EK Vector for a Radeon VII GPU, but only because it was the only block I could get my hands on. Plus, I lack patience. :D

I've got an EK block on my XP because it was all I could get in clear and silver. It's not bad.

I try and stick to Aqua Computer as much as I can now, for the reasons above. Screw paying £70+ every time a manu changes their boards.

I returned my EK Velocity. Considering the cost I thought it was supposed to be a good improvement. But at 2C warmer on average I went back to the rampage block I had with the board, which funnily enough is Bitspower.

Grabbed a G920, shifter's on the way too but it was much cheaper on-line and postal services are on a strike here, so it'll be a while. :D

What would be cool is having VR gloves, Just simple gloves but with tracking strips, That get picked up by the HMD and external lighthouses so that when you move your hand over the wheel you can see exactly where your hands are, Same idea for the shifter.

I ordered some parts from them a couple of months ago, had to wait until they restocked some clear soft tubing that I wanted first. Seemed to take a lot longer than estimated but finally arrived so in went my order only to be told the plastic hose clamps were no longer in stock and would I mind waiting a few days. Well 2 weeks later I get an email saying the clear tubing has also gone out of stock at which point I gave up and asked for a refund which for some reason was $16 less than I paid, about 4% of the order. I too will not be using EKWB again.

Cool, in more ways than one :D. Not familiar with the newer CPU's, newest one I've owned is Broadwell. Seems you might be running with SVID disabled, how does this help? What is Tjmax programmed to and does it affect temperature readings? Notice the VRM power out is much higher than power in, IIRC my MSI Z97 does this too so have to compensate with SW. So 200W would be correct? If so that's how much my mobile quad core Haswell can draw at lower clocks so really good savings.

Yeah, could be pretty nice. Though I found that I move my hands in almost exact same way as the drivers do in AC and PC. :D

There are haptic VR gloves being designed. That provide feedback when you grab a ball or cube for example. But they are not cheap!

Think of the movie Ready player one. Its in the works!
