Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

hrm, well if the cooling is still arse it looks like I'll be using external radiators. I read that there are some spots which you can put fans on without modding so I'll look into that

No no nooooo, no external radiators!

I do remember seeing a build log where an Alienware case has 3x120mm fan spots in the roof but I'm not sure if there was enough clearance for a rad.

If I can't get radiators in my system I'll just have to resort to making the inside super clean and air cooled. I reckon you might be able to squeeze a 240 in the roof but I (this will be my first loop and I know nuffink :l) believe that wouldn't be near enough for a cpu/gpu loop.

just bought this beauty as im only 16

Argh! So much Razer it hurts! :p

Nice screen though! How are the colours and contrast on that thing?

Never enough Razer don't you mean !!! :p

The screen is great for everything to be honest, Not as good as the Asus IPS monitor to the right but still good :)

got one of these babies for my laptop, the 250gb model :) will go to scan next saturday to get it fitted as I never mess with laptops and I need the laptop for tomorrow morning so today was a no go.

I am now the proud owner of a FiiO E10! Well... when it arrives (hopefully tomorrow) :)

Should make my monitors and headphones sound a tad better and I can even use it on mITX rigs, laptops and under Mac OS X as it requires no drivers. Yeah, pretty sure I'm going to be happy with this thing ;)

I got one of these a few days ago, namely a Logitech g230 Gaming Headset.

I tend to rather 3.5mm headsets as opposed to USB ones, being an occasional Linux user, as there's far less messing with drivers.

It wouldn't be the most top-end out there, but it's a nice upgrade from that POS Phillips one I was using.

Got it to go with some SRH440's to add to my current collection (HTF600, RX700, Image One's)... by far the nicest and most expensive headphones I've ever owned, but ohhhhh so good for mixing down music :D

Sweet! Good to hear that you're liking them so far. Do they add anything to your monitors (speakers) as well compared to on-board or is that just a pass-through?

Going to use them for my MS16s as well as ATH-M40Fs :)

Yeah I went back and forth the first day I got it and the E10 is a massive step up from onboard (that's the only thing I had to test against since it was replacing a failed DGX) ... going back to onboard just sounds properly horrible, like a bloody mess :)

This is true for both the headphones and my speakers, since all the processing is done by the DAC, even for the line-out :) It really is a lovely little device which does justify it's price tag even tough you have to concentrate a fair deal to understand all the intricacies.

Only problem with the E10 + SRH440's is that I've been utterly spoiled, I hate having to work in school with the onboard on the Macs and the senhieser's they've got ... or working with anything else to be honest :P

EDIT : I would also say (from memory) it's better SQ wise than the Xonar DGX... I know the Xonar is a £25 card, but with the fiio you also have a epic headphone amp and it's portable :)

I currently have no sound card either, so it's good that I'm getting some form of upgrade at least. Yaknow... for €75,-

Glad to hear that the line-out is also hooked up to the DAC. Should give my MS16s a nice boost as well.

Yeah, I already have that issue with my mouse and mousepad. It's so smooth and the second I lay my hand on another mouse (like in school) I just hate it. Guess you could always take your E10 with you as it works under any OS ;)

I have had the pleasure of listening to a DGX on my old speakers (Wavemaster MX-3, which weren't bad for PC speakers at all). A client build I did had one in it. While it did sound a tiny bit different I wasn't blown away with. Now I have proper monitors though, so we'll see what the E10 brings me! :D

Thanks for all the info!
