Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Yep 3rd party's.

Though the VDDC is quite high Dice. Probably could lower those by a ton at stock clocks and get temps down even more. Just gotta wait:/

Whats more annoying IMO is AMD said the Fury x is a highly overclockable card yet they are not providing the software at the same time

They never really have provided the software.. so.. yeah
AMD Overdrive is the most basic you can get. Not even worth using tbh. No point in them updating it when they have multiple 3rd parties doing it already

Let's hope MSI ASUS or Sapphire get on this soon "fingers crossed for you Dicey"

Technically they could but they won't, Same when I had the 295X2, Zero voltage control in the overclocking tab.

It's always been up to 3rd parties annoyingly.

Then they can shirk and say "Third party tools are not supported and may void warranty".

Good point there Vault-Tec so why did they say its a highly overclockable card and not say after "overclocking this card will void your warranty" ?

Strangely, when I got in bed last night shortly after seeing Dice's pic of his rig on Facebook I thought of him, I just pictured him sat at his desk with his eyes pinned open shouting "FWAMEZ!!"

I look at his rig and say dayum that bitch deserves a custom loop :D

You thought of me while you were in bed, Well this answers a few questions XD

On a serious note even a 100mv boost would be handy and enable 1200 on the core :)

In all honesty I like the hassle free nature of AIO's :)

A custom loop would be sweet but his rig looks fine. I'm personally not a fan of the case but overall it looks like sex.

Probably the same reason they put a paltry Antilles switch on the 6990 and then said that if you remove the protector and flip it your warranty is gone.

Overclocking is pretty damn crucial in sales these days. Products that do sell far more than ones that don't. However, as BFG found out, covering all of those dead cards can take its toll...

AIOs are the perfect solution to water cooling IMO. I can't tell you how many WC builds I have seen that have seriously gimped performance because of the cost of the WC parts. Me? I'd take a Fury X any day over a water cooled 980, and I bet they cost about the same.

You can WC a GPU using an AIO for about £70. Full WC? the bloody block costs more than that.

That's the issue. Heavily inflated prices are heavily inflated. And then there's the shelf life of the hardware that sits under that block. About ten whole seconds, minus the time it takes to friggin sneeze. Then you're left with a £100 paper weight, as it seldom fits anything newer than the card you bought it for.

Screw WC tbh. I'd rather slap two 240mm AIOs on my stuff. Sure it doesn't look as nice, but what foo' would take looks over performance (don't even go there on that one....).

Interesting take on things, baring in mind for similar sort of money the 980 would perform better being watercooled, GPU Boost and all that jazz

Interesting decision. Would I take a small PCB card or Maxwell.... I mean they both sound pretty gay and disturbingly power efficient.

Is a massive Keplar card really not an option? ...780Ti Classified or something even a 290X Lightning ^_^

We know 100% of the time massive chunky power hungry cards win, i mean come on we run some of the most power hungry cards in the universe

But out of those 2 in this exact minute in time id have the 980, its only logical....

I mean it is bigger, but it uses less power. So...

...Gigabyte 680 Windforce 5?

Devil 13 should be for you then

While I do like dual GPU cards like that they all kind of limit the overall amount of power. A pair of aftermarket 290X's would be bigger and more power hungry. So like definitely better.

Did you say x99 and Quadfire 290X

I think you did......
