Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Thing is if I got an Alienware, I would have to sell my current rig which kind of feels like an epic fail to me given its a nice, powerful build, it looks the part with things like braided cables and then I'd get an Alienware which would likely be less powerful, bit of a mis match inside and yeah I dunno...but I do want one...its just I don't have the space for a second rig.

Alienwares, well, the Area 51, come with a 5820k as a base CPU dude. They're all X99 so it would be a much higher end build than what you have now (if your sig is correct and present).

Sell the 960 from the Alienware, whack in your 980.

Nope most people will not pay $40 out for that they would rather pay $5.00

On a side note: Parvum Systems Cases were a big flop here.

Well I am sure that there is some UK based user here that would happily arrange this to be sent to you. Something small like this cannot cost much to ship. It can't be any different to Norway anyway.

The phrase cheap buggers comes to mind ^_^

$40 ? It only costs £10 over here, Surely it can't be that inflated over there ?

Maybe it will cost $25-$30 but i still don't think people will buy it.

I'm happy with my Noctua NT-H1 atm.

Oh really? Thats good, is that a higher spec model or the base? How much RAM does it come with as well?

Yeah 16GB Domm Plats vs 8GB of whatever they stick in, I don't think I can bring myself to do that tbh.

I had Dom Plats too. But, DDR4 is a step forward. It has a much higher bandwidth, so I've not seen any issues with running 'only' 8gb.

I don't see X99 with a lower amount of ram a step backward to a 4690k running on a very basic motherboard. Everything else, and I mean everything else, is far superior to what you have now and you can always add ram in at a later date..

Maybe you should start a separate thread about this dude :)

Edit. Alienware are now using Samsung ram..

Streaming pages from disk still takes an age - would strongly advise against downgrading RAM capacity for DDR4 bandwidth.

I'd imagine 8 is fine, but its still a bit of a shame going from 16 to 8. How much did your Alienware cost you Vaut-Tec?

I'd never recommend 8GB for a gaming system these days. I've had to upgrade from 8 to 16 because games were constantly page faulting (running out of available RAM pages). As more and more games/apps move over to 64 bit this will only get worse. Also DDR4 prices ain't cheap.

Tbh it sounds like you just like going for big brand names, Beats, Apple, Alienware, which is your decision - it just reminds me of a mate of mine ^_^

Beats - Overpriced and sound cheap.

Apple - Overpriced but a nice experience.

Alienware - Overpriced and looks cheap.

Apple and beats don't count as the best tech, They have the highest prices but not the best tech ;)
