Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

The T1 telsa?! That's $1400
You will need something a lot more powerful than an e10k though to drive those cans... 600ohm is far to much for an e10k

I will try them with the e10 first, especially since the other dac I ordered needs longer than the T1s

Weirdly my mummy just kicked off a little upgrade cycle...

She just bought an Inspiron 15 5000.

Great deal actually, free shipping, £30 off, 5% off for boxing day and 10% off for being a student.

i5-4210U
8GB 2x4GB 1600MHz
1TB 5400RPM HDD
AMD Radeon HD R7-M265 2GB
Intel Wireless-AC 3160
15.6" LED Backlit (1366x768)

All for a very modest £383, I quickly identified that the weak link was clearly the HDD and offered to put my Corsair Force LX 256GB in it.

So naturally I got a 240GB HyperX 3k for JR2.0 :p (not bad actually at £93)

And while I was at it I talked myself into another little mod for JR2.0 and bought myself a Kelvin.

I plan to change everything except for the pump/block so it didn't really matter which one I got, I just thought the Alphacool ST30 240mm would probably sell on the easiest and so opted for the S24, with a pair of fans too it seemed liked the best value.

I will be going to OCUK later after the post has arrived to pick up everything else for this little mod :p me and JR2.0 are feeling excited.

A new hobby.

Something small to start off with: FTX Vantage 4WD Brushed.

I went in to ModelSport UK and it was so busy that I forgot that I wanted to get the brushless version. I'm wondering if I can upgrade this version to a brushless motor. I don't suppose anyone here knows what would be required (besides the motor)?

Need an ESC and a brushless motor, then the conversion kit, mounting and stuff, are you using a LiPO battery setup already?

I'm just using it as stock. Comes with NiMH battery.
I see I'd need the brushless ESC and motor and LiPO battery. What's the conversion kit?

why not just return it and get the version you wanted? might be cheaper

Yeah I think it is much cheaper and I've used it a couple of times before realising I got the wrong one. It was only after cleaning it down I was like derp - I forgot to ask for a brushless version. I'll admit it was more of an impulse thing as I only went to Model Sport to have a look as my parents live around there whilst I was visiting.

I might just sell this one and get the brushless carnage model or keep it for a bit and upgrade to a better one.

Just that, mounting hardware for the motor and ESC, also to go with LiPO's you need the charger.

What it might be worth doing ringing modelsport and tell them you wanted a brushless version and if they could make you a kit to bolt in, then sell the old stuff on bay of e

Edit: You're making me miss my Hyper 7, that thing was stupidly insane! wish i still had the video's it was so perfectly tuned it used to keep up with some of the brushless stuff, not the 6/8S guys but some of the lower end stuff

Yeah that's a good idea. By the sounds of things you've had experience with RC. Would you say a brushless motor upgrade is worth it?

yeah it was few years ago, brushless is amazing, i specifically gave up my Nitro engine for brushless, granted i never used the car after that, i managed to break a chassis, and trying to replace a carbon chassis is £££££

But do it! Make sure you read about the perfect ESC & Motor combo, you'd be surprised how terrible the experience can be if you have mismatched combo.

Also when it comes to LiPO's they are £££ but they're worth the money, ive read horror stories about cheap LiPO's catching fire whilst on charge.

Sounds good, I'll look into it :D
