Possible Upgrade For 2017

Hey Guys,

I'm looking for ideas and views on a possible upgrade, I've basically not had a "major" upgrade for the last few years and I'm looking for suggestions on what do my rig specs are in my signature bellow.

Cheers
Rob

Not sure if you have an SSD, but that would be good.

Other than that, if you want performance, a GPU would be the obvious choice. That CPU will do you good for a few more years.

Yeah forgot,

I have a couple of SSD's one for O/s and the other for Programs and Games.

What GPU would be a good choice to upgrade????

RX480 or GTX1060 are both great cards for the money. GTX 1070 is great if you have the extra available and if gaming on a resolution above 1080.

But as always, if you can wait 3-6 months, wait and see what Vega can bring to the table.

Wait until all the new tech is revealed in a few days ;)

Cheers for the views guys

I'm looking at the 480's how much performance wise are they from the R9 390's????

Performance will be better, but more significantly, you're power consumption will have a MASSIVE drop. You're performance per watt is again a massive improvement. As a result of this, temps are much better and fans can run slower.
And with any newer card, drivers are usually better. Although AMD seem to be better at making there hardware last longer than Nvidia so it shouldn't be a problem if you hold onto it for many years

But as others have said wait. On Jan 5, Vega gets its reveal. Best to wait and see what it has to offer
