Poor BF3 3D performance: 7950 or Tridef?

My 7950 gets under 24 fps in 3D no matter the settings on bf3.

Obviously this is an error with tridef (or other software - looking at you amd drivers

) that needs to be fixed.

Any info on the problem would be greatly appreciated!

Edit - this also seemed to happen on my 5850

spec?

nvm, the 4gb is quite low, any background apps? like f@h etc?

Only a few background apps and only just over 3gb is used in battlefield 3 (according to task manager)

Also may try as I've been needing to upgrade the ram for a while but never got around to it

what res are you running?

My old 5870 used to run a LOT higher than that.have you made sure that you have cleaned the drivers properly and done a fresh install?

A lot higher in 3D?

I get a good 60-70 fps constant in a full 24-32 player game on ultra all highest (apart from AA post because it makes the image blurred)

But when I use 3D it goes to 24 fps on those settings and even 24 fps on lowest settings in game!

My bad,I missed the 3D part for some reason(how,I have no idea, lol).

you tried turning off both post AND deferred AA?

TBH the only thing that needs to be on ultra is Mesh Quality(as that relates to the draw distance, useful for spotting enemies at long range).

The thing is at the low pre-set with everything low as can go it still gets under 24fps, which is why I'm thinking software related

If you are not running over HDMI or are 100% sure your on a dual link dvi cable ignore this.

The older HDMI standards only supported 1080p@24hz when running 3d due to lack of bandwidth and mabey causing your 24fps? if so it will most likely be your screen if its an older one in that situation.

A non dual link dvi cable(the cable will have a chunk of pins in the center of the connector missing if its only a single link and not dual) may also be a problem but im not 100% sure on the limitations of that off the top of my head.

Try dropping your resolution to 720p as even the older HDMI revisions can do 720p@60Hz while in 3d

If your monitor has DVI try out a dual link dvi cable that may sort your issue.

I doubt that this is my problem as I can run metro 2033 fine in 3D at 50fps+ with no dof

By the way I will say to anyone thinking of buying a 3D monitor I would definitely suggest it for games like metro which look amazing!

Have you tried different drivers by any chance?
