As soon as I saw itunes I instinctively clicked it, I use itunes for all my mp3s really nice interface, but for videos, I use various codec packs which work with wmp. Also use vlc.
I use WMP as the latest version is just nice and simple to use and does everything I want. Get the K-Lite Codec Pack to go with it and it plays pretty much anything
Used to be iTunes but seriously gone off it recently. Got a plugin for WMP for syncing my ipod that does the job just as good
I'm surprised so many in a geek-community use wmp.
Your title "Media" player is a little ambiguous. I use Winamp for my music, cause it's free, plays what i want and has plugins. However, I use vlc for movies because of the simplicity.
I voted winamp, because i spend far more time listening to music than watching video.
I was quite suprised to see it with the most votes too. Did computer science at Uni and if you mentioned anything created by microsoft they'd all look at you like you were Satan haha. Maybe the people on here are a bit more down to earth lol
Yeah same back in the day when I was at College. Admitting that you liked something made by MS was similar to telling your mates that you cried while watching Titanic with your Mrs.
I think we're all a little less judgemental here though and respect each others opinions. Also, media players are more a matter of personal taste (as they all do the same thing, only look different) whereas something like IE vs Firefox has other stuff like the security aspects to consider.
I do have to also admit that I've begun to respect MS more in recent years. Certain things they're doing/companies they're partnering with now they wouldn't have even entertained in the past.
I would go for iTunes for Music (mainly for iPhone/iPhone Remote integration) and WMP for most Video, although I didn't have that option so I just clicked iTunes as I use it the most.
Foobar for music because, well, it's just pure concentrated epicness.
KMPlayer for video because it is the best I have ever used, by far. It can play anything, and with a couple of other codecs, you can play anything even better! (more efficiently) VLC player has also handled everything I've thrown at it so far (not a lot, but it's done them all), but it just doesn't look or feel that great.
I use WMP player because it's comes pre-installed, it's easy to use once you get used to it, it supports all the codecs that I generally use. In Win7/Vista I assumed that it automatically ran in the background which made it open quicker which is something I liked about it also.
