Well, today i picked up a weak basis for a system from a friend who had my old parts put in. Eventualy this system will get stuck under phase and proably brake, but untill then...

Ive only got 256mb of ram to run in this and i cant stand windows under that little memory. So im going to plunge into the world of linux. Ive got a DSL disc i use for trouble shooting but have no idea how to get anything on there bar paint to work, so Im looking for a distro that will basicly be easy to set up a LAN connection for (just to get the thing onto the internet), will run a client that will let me on msn & irc, run a torrent program, takes as little space as possible and is as stable as humanly possible.

Ive had a poke about and im stuffed if i know wich 1, any pointers?

Cheers

(k)ubuntu for noobs

suse for ultimate noobs (rpm packages can be a godsend)

until u learn to use the konsole, stick with the noobiest distros around. but i suggest u make a serious attempt at learning some linux commands, it is very powerful and also fun :D

Well suse told me i needed 6 cds. F tht.

Ive got the kubuntu torrent and am sourcing it now...
