Hi i have this mSata SSD and i want to use it but im having doubts.
Is it better off buying a normal SSD like Samsung or Corsair etc than this mSata SSD?

here are the specs of it
256GB (PX-256M5M)
Sequential Read: up to 540 MB/s
Sequential Write: up to 430 MB/s
Random Read IOPS: up to 79,000
Random Write IOPS: up to 77,000

i know it will be usefull in laptops but my laptop doesn't have mSata port and i only use it to watch movies and surf the net.
the only place i can install it is in my rig (i5, msi z87 GD65) but i already have another mSata ssd as a cache but it has smaller capacity.
I can trade it for a normal SSD if anybody needs it.

I would say you'd be better off with something like a Samsung 840 EVO 120 or 250.

Performance
Sustained Sequential Read
540MB/s
Sustained Sequential Write
520MB/s
4KB Random Read
Up to 97,000 IOPS
4KB Random Write
Up to 66,000 IOPS

Are samsung better than corsair? And would you recommend 2 120s on raid or a single 240/256.. At the moment the cache i use is impressive.

Samsung > corsair for SSDs. Samsung's are much more reliable then Corsair's. Corsair have the superior RMA though.

I honestly have not bothered looking recently :p

From your point, i can see why you dont do it. All that work you have right now, and a normale SSD will be faster then a mSATA. But it can be handy to a small lan rig, where you only have OS and some games on. But then a normal SSD will cost you less ;)

I was thinking to put this on z87i gaming of msi (if its possible to replace the wireless) but like everyone said its better to have a proper ssd. Im stuck with this. Who would use this mSata ssd? Even gaming laptop users use normal ssd isnt?

Dont ask why i have this or where i did get this. I have to kill you if i tell you (just kidding its a long story).
