Please Tell Me I Didnt Hurt My Mach!

Well, I have a few questions about my gt I hope someone can help with. I just got it yesterday from a guy off of ebay and it looked brand new. I was eager to see it frost up so i only connected the blue wires to the power switch and plugged the mach in the wall. The LCD came on imediatly at 19 degrees (1st question: when does the LCD turn off? As long as the prommy was plugged to the wall it never went out.) Everything kicked on and temp went down to -50 when it said "activate" or something to that effect....I'm sure thats the signal to turn on the motherboard but anyway. Remember there is nothing else plugged in at this point. At about -53 it said something like "power down" and started a count down from 180. I got nervous and unplugged it from the wall. A few minuted later I plugged it back in and nothing...No lcd and power button did nothing. I reda something somewhere about waiting for 15-20 minutes for power something...I have'nt tryed to turn it on since then. Anyone got any Idea's? Is it just because it did not get the power and what not from the computer since it was'nt hooked up and shut itself down? please help:eh:

1st did you let it sit for a good 12 hours so the oil and gas seprated? I blive this to be a major thing you should do on such unit...duno why ya dont on normal kitchen fridge/freezers!

Sounds ok to me mate,

it will shut itself down if it doesnt get power from the mobo, so it did the right thing.

it also doesnt leak as it pulled the temp down :).

And when you turn the unit off you have to wait like 150 seconds before you can start it again. This is because powering up the compressor is bad when its just been powered off.

Sounds like its in good shape mate. dont worry.

Souds like you popped a fuse??

The initial startup sounds like the unit is fine but when you plugged it back in nothing seems like a fuse
