You bought these second hand didn't you? gigabyte cards can have this problem however it is not normal so you probably want to RMA it. IF you can that is.

Definitely you didint read everything....this is an rma....and is an asus gtx 780 ti cu2 oc card...first was powering off on stress...ive sent it back and got this replacement....wich runs fine..is just that the vrm's temps are going crazy sometimes.
I just run some tests..using Heaven..and the temps of vrm significaly going down if i usee 100% fans speed(around 20 C down)...but ofcourse thats's mean a lot of noise

Just RMA it. Its pretty obvious its broken if the VRM's temps are that bad. I missed the bit about it earlier, ooops. why do you put '...' ever so often as well?

I ignored the strange temp readings from HWinfo, but if you haven't noticed yet when an Asus card gets hot the VRM temp readings sometimes jump to 200+ degrees C which is not possible (in the highest instance for me 465 degrees C). Defo some software/hardware faults there. But this is minor issues, also my card's hottest VRM readings took it to 99C when running Valley, on highest I could get it for 45 minutes. I stopped after that because temps trailed off and didn't get any hotter (on the contrary the temperatures after 20 minutes actually started lowering which I found really strange) from about 25 minutes till the last 5 minutes the VRM temps went from max of 99C down to 96C.

Well the image from my last post is from a chip who actually reads temps inside the mobo...and i found that article what it is.....now im not concerning of that..is true that chip is near the z97 chip who get very hot sometimes..and that i saw from nor monitoring with a software..just simple with the touch of heatsink(under the mighty red eye
) )Now here are the temps from asus vrms when running crysis on ultra for like 30 mins

those temps seem alright according to me for the game. They are high'ish but its normal with this card. I get similar temps myself in the most intensive games like Metro Last Light, Watch dogs etc. Lately I have managed to drop the temps a bit more, now they very rarely hit 90C, only in very long and intensive benchmarks.

You know what i just discoverd? lol. I have overcloked it to 1100 gpu and memory to 7070 and the temps dont go more then 85...LOL
