Please help with game stuttering!!!

Hi guys sorry to repost on this topic but I am at my wits end.

My problem is that when I play BF3 both online and on singleplayer I have this horrible stuttering. I have done the render.perfoverlayvisible 1 to see the spikes and the CPU is spiking like mad. However the spiking is worse on maps such as Caspian Boarder. My frames are around the 50-80 mark, so i'm sure its not the GPU.

To try and resolve this issue I have reinstalled Windows 7, reinstalled BF3, updated BIOS, updated all GPU drivers and disabled onboard sound(some people have had stuttering caused by Realtek sound cards) I overclocked by CPU to 4Ghz but still the problem didn't go away.

I don't think it is the games fault as sometimes when watching a film I get stuttering accompanied by a buzzing sound. Also its not my internet as i get 17 ping on BF3.

AMD Phenom X4 955
M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3
ZOTAC GTX 670
CORSAIR HX 750W
CORSAIR FORCE 3 120GB

What are your in-game settings? Are you playing with everything max'd out?

Buzzing sound? Could be a sound driver crash I've had that happen. Are you using onboard or sound card? Basically need more info.

Have you overclocked the GPU at all?

no haven't OCd the GPU. Thats the thing when i go to bf3 video settings the game just freezes. i am using onboard sound which is realtek.

I had something similar on my Core 2 rig in BC2 and when doing really CPU intensive tasks, I also tried to do all the things you tried in your original post and it never went for me either. But it never happened to me when I didn't have the realtek drivers installed...

Shall i just buy an I5 3570K?

Do you have any form of soundcard, be it PCI or USB? Unless you feel you want to upgrade, it may just be easier to find the exact problem then get a new system

No soundcard at all using the on board.

for about £20 get urself an asus xonar. i have the DG pci model, waaaaaay better than onboard, and much louder. may be worth a shot, even if u later decide to switch to intel you will still have a very good card to carry over
