Hello,
My name is Andy (as you may have guessed already)
I am 24 from Reading, Berks.
Well I suppose I could start will telling you a little bit about myself.
I've been building/repairing and upgrading computers since 1999. That started by accident.
My first machine was brought in 98. Fresh Win98 installed. But shortly the system failed and I had no knowledge what so ever. So me and my dad took it to an independant pc repair buisness, to which they ripped us off...
They gave us our "dead" system back saying it was useless, claimed it was fit for the bin, and that we should buy this new system that was on the reduced price list.
My father being the way he was just accepted it and brought the pc.
Months passed and I had the pc up in my room. I took it apart. Everything was taken out, even the motherboard, I even removed the CPU. After a few weeks I began to to it back together on the off chance it would work.
But while taking the pc apart I had noticed something hanging, it was the ribbon cable for the HDD... Could that be why it didnt wotk?
After putting it all back, to which I could only guess was right I decided to turn it on. It booted in the bios but hung. I used the boot floppy disk that came with the system and re-installed Windows...
Basically the HDD was to blame from the start, did it come un-plugged while I had it? or when it got to the pc shop? Foul play???
either way I vowed never to "buy" a system again.
I began to learn how to build a pc from the start, buying the right parts. It has progressed years and years on and I can honestly say I'm atlease into my 134th build. Building for family, friends, even friends of friends of my family....
anyway i've strung that along abit to much lol....
Other that computers:
In my spare time, i work (lol) and i create music and DJ, I also have my own business on facebook, offering FREE pc advice. I wont advertise here tho because I dont know the rules...
I also like to ride my jump bike, go to the gym, go swimming and train for the Reading Half Marathon that I am doing in 2011
My Rig is as follows:
Intel dual core x6800 extreme
2x2GB Corsair XMs3
700watt Jeantech gaming PSU
Jeantech "AQUA" gaming case
XFX GTX280 Graphics card
Abit Fatality SLi motherboard
Onboard sound
I built this system in 2007, replaced the Graphics card in 2008.
My new rig will hopefully be along the lines of:
i7 950 OC'd to 4Ghz
ASROCK SKT-1366 X58 EXTREME6 or
Asus P6X58D-E or
Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R
GTX570 superclock
Corsair XMS3 (3x2GB) DDR3 or
Corsair Dominator (3x2GB) DDR3 or
Mushkin Redlines (3x2GB) DDR3
PSU I am not yet decided, Ideas welcome as there are loads out there....
Same as coolers as I will be hitting the 4GHz mark or higher...
Anyhow, thats my introduction.
