Planning new personal build, need advice.

So I recently built a new high-end rig, but I didn't buy all the parts at the same time, and I just realized I now have a 3000$ machine sitting on my desk, I need to sell it, recoup the money, and downgrade to something less expensive.

I need help putting together a new build for Battlefield 4, and large music production libraries.
Based around the i5 3570k!

Budget 1200$ Does not include monitor, keyboard, or mouse.

Does include:

OS (windows 7) + everything else inside!

The current Air 540 I have is too big, I want something smaller, and don't really care about it being flashy, as long as it packs a punch, and keeps things cool.

So I'm thinking MATX, something low-profile, that I can keep on my desk without taking up as much space as this beast.

I still want it to have an optical drive bay, and room for 2 hdd's tops, and I'll mod it to fit SSD if I have to.
Also, does anyone have any tips for how to sell my rig?
I'll be putting it in local classifieds, but does it make sense to throw it on eBay as well? If so, is it safe to ship a completed computer, and how?

Thanks in advance!

Newegg + Amazon only!

Well, I wasn't quite in your budget but I got this list of parts for $1250 straight from amazon.com.

i5 3570K - $230
MSI Z77MA-GD45 - $115
MSI R9 280X - $330
Corsair 300R - $90
Corsair RM550 - $107
Samsung 840 Evo 120GB - $86
WD Blue 1TB - $60
ASUS 24x DVD-RW - $23
Windows 7 $100
Total - $1250.90

Just what I was looking at if your set on the 3570K.

Look on ebay for W7 OS. I got 2 Ultimate editions on there for $100 each both non OEM. Much better deal than Home Premium OEM for $100. You could probably even get the Professional or HP verisons for even cheaper( i've seen professional sell for $50 before).

Though Radeon's build is very good for the money i'm sure if you look around for deals you can find same parts for cheaper.

Great thanks for the tip!

What is the main difference between OEM and non? I see some OEMS on eBay right now. And where are good places to look for deals?

As a copy of windows alone not a lot it means Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) which simply indicates Microsoft made it and it's allowed to be sold by a 3rd party.

Yeah OEM is for one PC, I think the retail versions allow to be installed on three systems? (Or one system, format, re-install etc.)

OEM versions means only one PC and it locks itself to the motherboard model #. So if you switch out the board then PC won't boot(unless same model).

Non OEM- Retail- means you can boot from any PC as long as the previous PC it was installed on has a deactivated license.

I would get an OEM if you can get it cheap - as its a new build. Everyone says its locked to the mobo, but its a piece of cake to call MS and say you had a failed mobo or something and they just re activate for you.

I agree with Rob, alot of friends have changed parts with Win7 oem and all they had to do was ring to activate it again, due to failing parts.
