Use a driver cleaning program to thoroughly delete all of your old vid card drivers or you can run in to some serious conflicts which will cause crashing.

used that driver cleaner it works for now need a new mother board what the best i could get considering i need agp still and p4 2.66 pin 478 i think?
 
got the expensive option cheers fella and a Arctic Cooling Freezer 4 Heatsink & Fan - Skt 478

just been messing with it got a error text irql not less or equl.

so i took sound blaster card out and computer working fine even used 3d mark06.

what should i do ?
 
Well installing creative drivers can be a pain. Goto Hardware other forum and look for my Audigy to Audigy 4 mod. Original Creative drivers worked on my old sb live 5.1 card so i assume the guide i posted there might work for your card. It only takes 5 10 minutes anyway so go ahead try it.
 
Depends you might or you might not to , sometimes you can get away with it. What i would suggest first time booting into windows boot into safe mode and uninstall your old drivers , then restart and boot into windows , install new motherboard drivers.
 
It asked for a re-activation of windows on my friends when we did his. Not a full reinstall. So prey it works online and you don't have to ring up and speak to some nonse.
 
i have a 20 pin supply for mother board but the power supply i ordered has 1 missing near centre its a dummy pin holder. does that matter any1?

i have been reading the new motherboard manul saying ask for 1.5 volt agp one with the 3 slots but geforce 7800 gs has 2 agp slots have i ****ed up?????
 
is there a mother board that takes this card and i could still fit my hardware in and a new tower suggestions plesae going mad ?
 
Well mate that motherboard should fit an AGP card no problems

Trouble is that your PSU may not be up to it.

I can't figure out when exactly your problem is??
 
i have a 3.3v geforce and the new mother board i got suggested says that wont work on it plus i wont fit in my advent 3312 case so

1.i was wondering is there a mother board that will fit my geforce card and my

p4 2.66ghz.

2.also any suggestion on a new case
