£542 - Dolphin 35 - 600 mins unltd texts so thats £35 a month...bit steep each month, but includes 5 months 1/2 price rental (hassle as i have to claim it) but £20 cheaper in the long run than...

£540 + £20 Dolphin 30 - 400 mins unltd texts £30 a month but £20 initially for the phone, £30 is a bit more affordable for me each month, at the loss of 200mins (dont call much)

Will be getting insurance from an external company too as its probably better value..

Both are 18month contract as i cant see a phone lasting (nicely) for 24 months

Would i lose warranty if i flashed off the network's firmware and replaced with original nonbranded?

Hows that in terms of value?

As long as you flsahed it back to the network's version on returns you should be ok.

The governing bodies should really take a look at the number of 18+ month contracts out there.

What u should be able to do is buy "whatever the hell phone u want" and float between contracts on something like a 3 month basis.

Bet they won't look at it cos there are options to buy el-cheapo pay as u go phones still. So they probably feel the ranges are covered. It's not the real picture tho in my pov.

Sounds a lot.

Vodaphone still offer 12month contracts if you hassle them. £35 should get you a good phone

but 12 month contract usually give u less allowance at a higher cost

i know its like 6 months worth cheaper in some ways but id end up going over and costing more

You'll learn how annoying it is to be tied into a cr@ppy contract. I'd rather pay a little more for a phone and have less of a contract tbh. Luckily the iPhone contract lets you get a new one at basically any time, just extending the contract.

Ok so 6 months in, if the new model comes out and you extend, you can keep the original or sell it? Is there a minimum time you would have had to have been with them? If not I'll just get the current Iphone now and wait until June / July and extend my contract!!

Well with the iPhone, O² and Apple allowed you to switch from the 2.5G to the 3G and keep the old phone and I only had mine for like 2 months

Think I'll have to have a word with my new service provider then.... Hmmm interesting stuff!

u dont get much allowance for that tho

600 mins, 500 texts - does me fine. But then again, I realised a long time ago that MSN and e-mail were cheaper than a 50 character text message :D :p

Seriously though, I've never used up more than 500 texts in a month. That would be a serious waste of time
