so i took a look at the quality of phanteks' fans since im buy the enthoo primo and i was rather suprised at what i found.
Phanteks
  • PH-F200SP: 110.1cfm, 1.04mmH2O, 25dB
  • PH-F140HP: 88.6cfm, 1.64mmH2O, 19dB
  • PH-140XP: 85.19cfm, 1.52mmH2O, 19dB
  • PH-140SP: 82.1cfm, 1.33mmH2O, 19dB
Noctua
  • NF-A14: 82.5cfm, 2.08mmH2O, 24.6dB
  • NF-F12: 54.9cfm, 2.61mmH2O, 22.4dB
  • NF-S12A: 63.2cfm, 1.19mmH2O, 17.8dB
*note the phanteks fans are all 140mm except the first one which is 200mm*
it seems that if you are looking for quiet case fans and not cpu/rad fans phanteks is a very viable option. any thoughts?

Yep, Phanteks js a very reliable brand. Maybe not as great as Noctua, but who is? ;) The only thing you would have to worry about is your signature...

Noctua products make me think that their developers are just a bunch of engineers having fun trying to make better fans

And that's the right way of doing engineering

that is pretty much what noctua is. though currently they have the trendiest color scheme if they were making handbags. i wish I could talk to them directly about coloring, i have some good ideas.

I actually like that color scheme, but if i have enough money, i'll get the iPPC one ( not for the color, just for performance and reliability )

i wouldnt give up noctuas for radiators but as a 140mm case fan option phanteks is very useful (especially if you want some led fans the PH-140SP comes in led options)

i say for case fans Phanteks would be the way to go and for rads a lot of people like Noctua. (not my 1st choice for rad fans though)

I would only buy those new nonbrown noctua fans, even then for a rad i would make it so it is not visible as much as possible. That's only if i felt like spending more money fans than an actual rad though...
