I'm just going to reply to points held in quotations because frankly It'd become rather a massive post if I used the actual forum quote function:
"because in moderation alcohol is not harmful at all"
ie in such moderation that you remain completely sober. And I've yet to meet anyone who 100% honestly drinks alcohol purely for the taste.
If you drink enough to ever get drunk, you're harming your body. Enjoyment tends to come at a price. Sometimes up to 50 pounds an hour, depending on your tastes
Secondarily, there is in fact no positive link found between lung cancer and marijuana. Ironically, certain types of cancer are actually slowed by anti-inflammatory compounds within THC. (The stuff about it "curing" conditions is, however, utter rot."
You became unmotivated whilst smoking marijuana?
Sucks to be you.
Didn't stop Einstein or Carl Sagan.
Marijuana makes you more impulsive and want to tend to your own urges. Have you considered the possibility that at the time, you just didn't really want to spend all day typing up papers that ultimately, wouldn't make much difference in the world? That's not meant as in attack on you in any way, I'm merely pointing out that the idea of marijuana fundamentally altering someone's persona to a point where they become their own exact oppisite is, again, unfounded nonsense perpetuated by, mostly, rather wealthy politicians.
"I was talking about a select few although the mass majority of them are lazy assholes. "
:| What's the point of saying you weren't making a blanket statement, if you're going to immediately follow it with a blanket statement? "Assholes"? A tad OTT, frankly.
"it's not until you stop smoking it that you realize just how much it does"
Sorry, but that's basically a bad red herring fallacy. You appear to be making the assumption that I sit round ripping bongs all day and never lay off of it. I've been free of it for up to a year a a time, and frankly, I notice no difference in my own capabilities on or off it.
"I went through an episode of smoking it. I woke up at 7am, smoked it all through the day at college at every break, after college, bed... 7 days a week from morning until night for months."
And that's the fault of marijuana, rather than yourself? I'm not sure what you're trying to prove there. Spending every waking moment doing any one particular thing is inherently bad, we're creatures of curiosity and variety, after all.
