PCP&C Power up issue

Lo guys, I bought a second hand PCP&C 850 W psu off of these forums a while back but only just got around to installing it. However my system wont power up with it (see sig). I get a small surge of current which powers things for a split second and then it cuts out. I've tried plugging in the essentials only but i get the same thing. When i jump start the psu out of the case it runs fine. I tried my old 600 W Enermax again and that works fine. Any ideas? Cheers.

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere...

Try it with individual components, then find out which one is causing the problem.

LOL :)

Sorry had to laugh as I had the same probs - there is a solution - you are using teh 4v jumper for the BH5 DIMMS right?

The 2nd jumper down needs to be slotted over to the other side I will get a pic uploaded for you ASAP ZAX mate.

It's not terminal and can easily be fixed (providing you have two spare jumpers, 5 of which are supplied in the DFI box ;)).

Cheers

Mav, Ive said it before and ill say it again, youre da maan :spoko: Looking forward to the pic. Thanks.

Phil got it for me - when I said his PSU was not as good as I hoped when I brought it (not exactly phrased like that) - might of been XS or direct from PCP&P.

Help for mate...... anytime you know that ;)

Does this help for all situations where the VDIMM comes from the 5V line? I have the occasional trouble starting me rig >3.2V... everything spins up, but nowt to the monitor

:)

Cheers

It was direct from the think tanks at PCP&C. ;)
