PC71/PC75 & Mach II does go!

I've been asked now on more than one occasion if the beast that is the Lian Li PC71 can be used in conjunction with the Mach II. The short answer to this is YES!

The beauty of it is that the motherboard tray is in exactly the same location as its baby brother - so as long as you pop the case on top of the Mach II you're laughing - providing of course you like BIG cases, and I do. I dont think you can beat this case actually. It's extremely well designed.

Here's some work in progress.

Three blowholes - 2 x 120 for the thermochill 120.2 and 1 x 80mm for the res.

A modified hd caddy now houses the pump. It's totally silent apart from the occasional gurgle of high speed water

And finally for tonight here's the PC75 in place on top of the Mach II. It's not too bad if you cut the capillary hole in just the right place.

Phil - you're the computer equivalent of Paul Teutel on American Choppers - The chrome project is ace. That LianLi rigs a big son of a gun! Will it be unstable or is the Mach II heavy enough to stop that?

It's perfectly stable - I'm not even drilling the four bolt holes anymore - in fact, I dont intend to drill the holes anymore in any case, it just isnt necessary. The weight of the chassis with everything installed is more than enough to stabilise it.

What if you want to move it tho? perviously with the bolts it was posible to move it (if supported well) with the mach2 attached as the bolts were bloody strong

On a more inquisitive note, which case do you recomend to me phil? im obviously gonna need the cuts for mach2, and i might put on some water cooling for my case. I alos wnat the case too look pretty neat

Its perfectly fine to move - I move it by pushing the mach II base - it's on rubber feet so on laminate its easy

or.. you cheat a little, and put a very small amount of cardboard underneath the mach II - you can slide it everywhere.

Also why is it overhanging so far at the front? Has the Lian-Li kit got a lot of extra front on it?

ferret, u got a mach2? if so wen you bought ure LCD screen u'd of noticed that there wassome longer support legs for the screen, there were like an inch or so long and thee are for the lian li kit i think, becoz yes it does stick ut more

You try drilling the holes accurately mate then you see what I mean. besides, I prefer the clean finish you get without the bolts.

Then taped that onto my dragon in the postition I wanted and drilled (use a small drill piece first), also matched up the cut out that way too. Have to say the best way to do the cut out (well the two cut ins fron the side) is a large metal saw, it went through my steal case like a hot knife through butter.

nVENTIV in their wisdom supplied a template for you to follow, but I found it more a hinderance than a help as it is based on the Enlight chassis and not the Lian-Li.

It's not 2" out no, but my case was just slightly further forward than it needed to be in the photo. I will push it back to align with the alu kit once it is on.

Yes Axer is correct. Also, most people wanted a Mach II inside the PC75 - which is a non starter as far as I'm conerned. There is just no room - however, the 71 or 75 on top of the Mach II looks great.

It does fit, but it takes some time to sort it all out, and its B I G. But if you're happy with the overhang and you like cases you can actually use, then its a great combination.

Stage one completed vapo fitted NOW the HARD bit fitting the head to the CPU

I also would like to know is there any where i mite be able to find one of the thumb screws that attaches the case to the vapochill i have three but one has gone missing could i get one from you phil. ???
