Hi Guys

Ive just builded my new rig and i wanted to run some benchmarks on it, but i keep having trouble with 3dmark. Everytime i start 3dmark my pc crashes.

stats:

zz7 sabertooth

3770k

2 x 7870 in CF

AX 850W

16GB corsair LP ram

Im really hoping that this is some kind of driver error..... but what do you thinK?

did you have fun buildeding your rig

some questions:

1) are you overclocked?

2) what are your temps?

3) are you daisy chaining your GPUs power?

I overclocked my 3770k to 4,8ghz and got temp near 100 degrees so i lowered the overclock to 4,7 and the CPU voltage to 1.28v. Now im getting temp between 80-90 under massive load i Aida64.

I haven't really spendt more then 10 min om overclocking my cpu, so most setting are just on auto. Ill keep it this way for a bit until i find out how to do it properly. Im a total noob when it comes to this platform and Overclocking in general so i need to read some guides.

I got my crossfire working this morning by uninstalling all drivers and installing some older driver and now its working fine. tested it a got a 3D performance score of 12200 and thats similar to tweaktown review of 7870 CF

http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/4597/amd_radeon_hd_7870_2gb_reference_video_cards_in_crossfire/index3.html

Im missing about 200 to reach their score of 12400 but i primarily count that down to the fact that their processor, ram is better.

Okay. But its not really that big of a problem for me since i rarely use my processor 100% .. But ill deffinately keep it in mind as i redefine my overclock

It sounds more like a stability problem. I have been reading a lot of articles lately on the overclock ability of the Ivy line and have been finding that it is just as terrible AMD and overclocking. I have found some people saying it is about 50% chance that you get a poor overclocking chip.

Because you have an ASUS board you should have AI suite II installed and if not DO IT NOW. It has an excellent feature called TurboV under Auto tuning. Click that then click extreme under the "automatic tab." This will overclock your CPU keeping temps in mind and give you a 100% stable overclock.
