PC&P 510 Deluxe

Hi y'all,

I've got my new system up & running, but I think my Antec TC 550W is starting to struggle with the load... My 12V rail is down to 11.9V...

I'm looking at the PC&P 510 Deluxe, how good are these things? All the reviews i've read are vague!

How high are the rails adjustable to?

Why a they so good for mach 2 users?

Will it handle my system with all this stuff - FX-55 @ 3.25Ghz & above, 2 x DVD Drives, 4 x Hard Drives, Mach 2 GT , X800 XT PE & 8 Case fans...

Either use the new Enermax Range (550 or 600w), OCZ Powerstream 520w and of course Extreme Prometeia sell a cracking range of PSU's built not only for overclockers but to withstand the abuse a MachII can give.

I changed my Trusty Antec for the same reason.

I've used enermax's in the past & found them to be low quality...

The OCZ has some incompatibilty issue's with the Neo2 from what i've read!

its basically the best PSU you can buy. Not sure what the OCZ 600W one is/will be like though.

this psu really is the best money can buy! rails are rock solid and also adjustable, but the pots inside the psu do not actually allow u 2 adjust them that much, but then u can do wat ive done and unsolder the pots and replace them with ur own ;) my rails on my psu are now:

12v = 12.76

5v = 5.49

3.3v = 3.7

uppin the rails has really helped keep my highly overclocked 6800ultra stable with the rest of my system. a gd psu is vital 4 stable overclocks, and u dont get much better than the pc&p 510 deluxe!! :cool:

$h!gS

dood u will be so happy if you buy the PC&P 510 Deluxe i got one two weeks ago and im still smiling the volts are rock solid ,its stable as hell and its quit cool brought my system temps down 10 degrees ,i didnt realise the old psu kicked out so much heat untill i changed lol

for £165 you better be happy :)

btw. OCZ has released a 600W PSU, i'm using the OCZ 520w and has been running in my Neo2 for a month witout any problems.

Do you reckon I could get some more out of my cpu with one of these?

I also don't think i'm getting good contact with the head... I worked it out, the cpu is kicking out about 180Watts but the GT never goes below -48 degree's!

Well I'd have thought You won't get more out of the CPU as your Rails aren't that low 11.9 is better then some hold when they have no LOAD, like my old Levicom, used to run about 11.89 - 11.94 when running Non-Overclocked pre-EXTREME computing, before I upgraded with 2 Raptors and better GFX card and overclocked etc. If you are running that on LOAD you should be running OK, just watch all the other RAILS aswell for signs of strain.

If you are going to upgrade then the PCP&C is a quality PSU and mine is holding up well to the torture I like to give them.

The stats on the 600W OCZ are:

+3.3v:28A , +5v:46A , +12v1:20A , +12v2:18A, -12v:0.5A , -5v:0.5 , -5vSB:2.0A.

These give 608W according to OCZ with a PEAK of 700W! :eek:

The Rails don't seem too much higher than the PCP&C considering they claim an extra 90Watts! And it costs about the same price!

Noise ...

The only other thing to consider is the noise. Some reviews have said the PCP&C fan is noisy under load and generally that the OCZ is quiet, although if is running in a Mach II system maybe noise isn't an issue. Phil has used both PSUs so his will be a good opinion to have.
