What gaming capture software would you advice for pc gaming
I have tried Acton but when I tried the play back it showed nothing
I refuse to pay use fraps,

I cant go hardware option unless its external (pc is itx)

I don't mind paying for it, also dont mind using other software for editing, 1080p would be a bonus but would settle for 720p

if it helps my pc hardware is i5 (none k) 12gb of ram and for storage its all external with 2tb and a 4tb hdds in a 2 bay enclosure.

If you have an AMD card Bandicam is good because you can use the AMD APP option and record from the GPU instead of your CPU with next to no performance loss, with relatively small file sizes of ~1GB per minute.
I know Mirillis Action also has the AMD APP option but the quality and bitrate is pretty low even on high settings.

If you have an Nvidia card then Shadowplay all the way.

Sorry for the late reply guys currently a amd card, Ill start having a look at each one and hopefully a free trial for me to test out

Bandicam has a free option, only thing with the free version is you are limited to 10mins of record time and you have a www.bandicam.com water mark on your vids.

Another thing I forgot to mention about it is as well as having next to no performance hit using the AMD APP option you can also record at 30 FPS and it doesn't lower your in game FPS.

use these settings, but set the keyframe interval to 1 if you edit in Vegas because it causes probs with higher keyframes.
