P67 GD65 + 2500K Overclocking

After offering to run some benches on my 2500k and GD65 in this thread and a few people showing interest, I thought I had better start a new thread rather than spam the review discussion thread.

Before I get on to benching at the same speeds as in the review, I want to find my own highest overclock as well as what I want to run it on 24/7.

I only started overclocking my 2500k on this board very late last night and hit a rock solid stable 4.7GHz at 1.44v. Left it Priming all night with it hitting a max temp of 64 under water (I think.. Was rushing this morning).

Will up it to 4.8 (maybe 4.9 if it primes for an hour at 4.8) later tonight on the same volts and leave it Priming overnight again.

Will get the benches up once I've finished playing with the overclocks.

Ok so it doesn’t look like this board likes my memory much at all. I just refuses to run it at its stated 2133MHz.

When I lower the memory speed all is ok. Can boot in at 5GHz fairly easily but getting it stable is a different matter. Takes a fair bit of voltage at something like 1.55v. Still within acceptable heat though at around 68 – 70 degrees.

Won’t be running at that speed except for the odd benching session.

Can’t decide on what to run 24/7 but rather than 4.7GHz at 1.40 – 1.45, I’m starting to lean towards leaving the voltage control on Auto providing SVID works properly and just having a 4.5GHz overclock that idles at 1.6GHz at something like 0.9v.

Will test this later tonight. It’s a bit boring but at least it won’t consume too much power when idling or just browsing internet which is most of the time.

Also looks like my 2 x 6GB/s SATA ports don’t work properly on any BIOS I try. I’m not using them currently and don’t mind as it’ll either get replaced or I’ll get a refund as part of the P67 recall.

How did you get around it or didn't you bother? I see you have another board now but when you did use the GD65 did you get it working?

Obviously working ok in the OC3D review, so maybe it's just a bit fussy on the particular sticks.
